Very similar to the original with a strong dry liggtly bitter coocoa taste in the finish. Im looking for the coconut and realy cant find it. Some light nuttiness in the middle. 8
A good beer even if not as different as I would have liked tmoreau (4365) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - AUG 13, 2013
On tap and shaker served at Rigby’s in Madison for their GToM pre-party. Displayed a black/brown hue with ruby highlighting, frothy & persistent, off white/light tan head foam, and curtainy cling to the lacing. Grainy and roasted, with dominant cocoa over coffee, but no noticeable coconut in the nose or flavor, not even the toasted variety. Medium+ bodied, moderate hop bitterness, and soft carbonation. Nice, but was looking forward to one of my favorite dark beer additives. crossovert (12934) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 12, 2013
Liked this variation. Tons of rich cacao and coffee with a levelling coconut sweetness.
