3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
One of the best lagers out there. Great lakes is doing great. Their porter and pale are are far and away tops.
Bottle, Ann Arbor, MI. Murky amber. Metallic caramel aroma. Sweet, full bodies. All malt. Slight pepper finish. Rex_Remes (215) - Bonyhad, HUNGARY - JUL 7, 2017
(12oz bottle) AROMA: sweet grain/corn, touch of tropical fruit, underlying spice and moist tobacco, some sourness, yeast. APPEARANCE: clear Amber, medium froth, head sustained, a bit oily. TASTE: Rich maltiness, dark chocolate, raisin, dried fruit, jam, earthy. PALATE: solid medium body, round, relatively robust, smooth and oily with some dry graininess on the tongue/cheeks at the finish. OVERALL: very nice Amber lager, ale-like in some ways but with the crispness and drinkability of a lager. One of the best Vienna/Amber lagers that I’ve had. Only small negative is it is a bit alcoholy tasting. dekester1 (366) - Town of Maple Creek, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 17, 2017
Poured a deep amber with minimal head and lacing. Aromas of sweet roasted malts with a light hint of fruitiness. Taste is deep caramel with a slight breadiness and light hop finish. Palate is very solid. Overall, one of the better ambers I have tasted in a while. Will definitely buy it again at some point. sjohnny (636) - - JUN 9, 2017
Toast. Malty. Vegetal. Slightly hazy dark copper. Medium off white head that quickly recedes to a foamy film leaving a ring on the glass. Medium bodied. Soft. Mouthfeel. Toast. Earth. Clean finish. Very nice.

Strong malty aroma and flavor, with some aftertaste. I didn’t care for it. In fact, I had to force myself to finish it. Not nearly as smooth as the Yuengling equivalent for this style. After trying at least 7 different beers from Great Lakes Brewing I have yet to find one I like. I will keep trying.
