Pours a light dark amber. Has a smoky oak aroma. Taste is very unique with little hops and strong oak and smoky malt. A lingering smoky aftertaste. arkurzynski (2456) - Combined Locks, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 28, 2013
Deep amber/bronze pour. Nose of salty smoked malts and caramel malt. Flavor is smoked meat/salty cheese that finishes with caramel malt and citrus hop bittering. Medium body. Smoke and pale ale flavors really meld together well with further drinking. Trail of salty smoke and candied citrus. Rather enjoyable. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 24, 2013
On tap at Sugar Maple. Clear amber with a thin off-white head. Aroma is mostly smoked malts with some caramel and toasted German malts underneath. Taste of smoked malts, leaves, sweeter malts and very mild bitterness on the finish. crossovert (13724) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 23, 2013
Not even close to smokey. It is a ncie pale ale though, mild, dry, nice citrus character. emacgee (4704) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - DEC 11, 2013
Smoky nose with notes of cooked peaches and hay. Grassy bitterness with a lasting bite. Slightly meaty smoky note to the finish.

Not a bad ipa but not the best one I've had. Smells ok, and the flavor is good as an ipa.

A nice smoked beer, at Slow’s BBQ, Detroit. A light and welcome smoke. Deep yellow body. Lovely smell. Chudwick (3315) - Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA - DEC 1, 2013
Draft - pours deep gold with head and great lacing. Smoky for sure like peat. Slight hop kick. Light. DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 17, 2013
7oz on tap at Fifty West. Clear orange color. Thin white head. Good thicker lace. Medium body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Kind of soft, lightly slick finish. Good hop profile. Lightly spicy, and orange citrusy. Light caramel malt. I hear this is a smoked pale ale, but smoke is very subtle. This might be because I am standing next to a bonfire as I taste this. Moderate bitter taste, little sweet taste. Solid, hoppy pale ale. Sneaky amount of smoke... well-balanced, you could say cheap (6009) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 15, 2013
On tap at mad mex. Looks like a yuengling. Smells like clean beer. Ooooo, the taste is quite strong at first. However, never makes it over the top. For a 6%, I guess its not coming on too strong after the session gets going. Yes, ass kicken but yet remains reserved. Indeed, a unique beery flavor. Finish is a tad medicinal.
