This beer is excellent. It has a gorgeous golden wheat color, with a beautiful foamy golden head. The head is creamy and pillowy on the palate. The body of the beer is thick and feels great on the palate, as well. The beer smells strong of banana, and spice, with wheat. The taste goes down smooth, and is very sweet but with just enough wheat and malt flavoring to remind you that it is beer. The aftertaste is creamy, and sweet. What a great beer. It would be tough to drink many of these. But if you are going to drink a beer that is sweet, ... make sure it’s this one. joeycapps (1468) - Waterdown, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 31, 2005
Cloudy dark amber w/ soft, frothy tan foam. Toasty aroma of banana, caramel, wheat & cloves w/ a hint of licorice & smoke. Soft, creamy feel. Delicious flavour of banana cream pie w/ a toasted, slightly burnt crust drizzled in caramel. Finish leaves warm, spicy notes. crizay (1050) - Brook Park, Ohio, USA - NOV 9, 2004
UPDATED: SEP 28, 2007 The desription says it all, it really does. The color is the inside of a plum, the scent is spicy, cloves and banana. Guess what it tastes like, cloves and banana. Creamy as all hell, the lower levels of carbonation do this beer justice. It’s puts me into a beer nirvana that cannot be explained. I’m in love with this beer. Just a great collaboration of spiciness, banana, and a creamy mouthfeel. It’s been 3 years and is staying my only 5. muzzlehatch (4969) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 8, 2004
On tap at Great Lakes. Hazy caramel color, lightly reddish, with little head. Bananas and caramel dominate the strong nose, with a bit of strawberry eddying in the background. Smooth, lightly smoky/tarry, quite malty, burnt caramel and rum-soaked bananas, alcohol well-hidden, fairly dry for the style....outstanding. NVBeer232 (467) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 25, 2004
Cloudy Deep orange color. Pint was too full for a head, really. But a vigorous swirl made a foamy pillow form on top. Very rich nose of wheat and spice. Full bodied and sweet, almost. Quite yeasty and accented with a touch of spice. Malty finish.
