Fantastic beer in a fantastic environment! Must have beer in the brewpub true to Germany.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a hazy amber with a white head. Aromas of bubble gum yeast and wheat. Bready wheat flavor with bubble gum yeast. Very tasty; my descriptions don’t do it justice. Quite a lovely dunkelweizen here. Dogbrick (13389) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - AUG 2, 2011
On draught at the brewpub. The beer is a clear dark amber color with a medium thin densely packed off-white head that burns away slowly. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel and malt along with dark fruit. Medium body with a banana and dark fruit character and notes of roasted nuts and malt. The finish is fruity with a sweet caramel aftertaste. Decent overall. shigadeyo (3759) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 29, 2009

7/07/2008: GLBC Lorelei is "a classic dark German wheat beer with roasty malt undertones." This description is right on the money! The aroma of this beer is like creamy wheat with a dry roastiness and hints of smoke. It’s appearance is cloudy, burnt gold. It has a thick, pillowy, ivory-colored head that creates fine, dense lacing effects. The beer tastes creamy with only some light floral hoppiness in the finish. It has a medium-full body, a soft palate, and is really creamy. It is good, but slightly disappointing overall.
Draught sample (ABV 5.1%; IBU 20) at the Great Lakes Brewing Company Brewpub in Cleveland, Ohio. Rating #5 for this beer.
[382-20070630] Tap @ Great Lakes (Cleveland, OH). Light banana yeast aroma. Hazy, dark brown amber body with a medium-lasting white head. Flavour is like a sweet toffee banana split. Medium-full body. Nice, fairly toned down as it seems to be missing carbonation.

Draft at the brewpub. Headless hazy brown body. Muted yeasty aroma of dark malt. Similar flavour, light estery yeast notes, and toasty malt with light caramel notes. Average palate is under carbonated. Not unpleasant but a bit disappointing - I was hoping for a bigger Aventinus like flavour. I doubt that the name is a reference to the Gilmore Girls, but it brings up memories of the show nonetheless. How might the show have been different had Luke’s diner been serving up micro brew and pulled pork rather than coffee and donuts? Ok that was a stretch... but I got the reference in! :)

UPDATED: JUL 14, 2007 This is the most unique offering from GL that I have tasted. The combination of wheat and dark beer worked magnificantly well. I would of just stuck with it if It wern’t for my desire to try the other offerings. crizay (1050) - Brook Park, Ohio, USA - JUN 16, 2007
Pours a murky purple brown with small almond head. Aroma is banana and some caramel sweetness. Flavor is much the same banana and caramel, with a slight roasted malt and nutty finish. The banana stays around in the background the whole time with a slight smoky sweetness in the finish. Good beer I need to go back down and have a few more.
