A classic German hefe-weizen served unfiltered to showcase the banana and clove notes of the yeast. A great summer thirst quencher.

tmoreau (4424) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - AUG 14, 2017
On tap at the Rigby in Madison, WI. for Great Lakes GToM pre-party, served to a goblet showing a hazed, orangey/gold color, with soft white head foam, and spiraling cling to the lacing. The nose was soft grain, slight yeast, light citrus, some circus peanut candy scent, and spice. Medium bodied, with decent carbonation, the taste was similar notes, with clovey phenols that was dominant in the flavor. A refreshing Hefe, nonetheless.

Sweet banana nose with traces of spice. Cloudy golden pour with thick white foam. Initial peppery (clove) notes quickly give way to bubblegum / banana taste. Soapy mouthfeel that begins with some active fizziness. It never quite delivered the dryness that I expected from the style.

Tap. Darker hazy orange with minimal head. Lots of citrus in the aroma, some wheaty grain notes as well, just really basic and subdued. Same goes for the flavor, some citrus and a touch grassy for the style and slight white fruits. Lighter chalky body.

JaBier (8027) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - MAY 5, 2014
Pint at GLBC on 5/3/14. Cloudy yellow gold in color with a thick white head. Aroma of banana, clove, marshmallow, creamy wheat and pepper. Creamy wheat flavor with banana and clove giving way to citrus and pepper before a watery finish.

Draft sample at brewpub. Poured cloudy amber color with an average fizzy white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate banana, clove and yeast aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a solid sweet finish of moderate duration. Good refreshing brew.

On tap. Pours hazy reddish golden color, thin white head. Aroma of banana, cloves, yeast. Mild sweet flavor. I liked this one because it wasn’t too clovey or too citrusy. Nice balance of sweet and spice, very refreshing.

Great summer beer. Not too harsh for those that like a lighter but tasty beer. Can only get it at the brewery.

Draft sample at the brewery. Pretty big overall. Thicker than expected mouthfeel from the wheat. Definitely a big helping of banana and clove notes. Pretty good.

Ok. Nothing special here. Very wheat taste that is notice bc of the unfiltered beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

madvike (3271) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 28, 2011
On tap at GTMW - Pours hazy amber with no head. Aroma of light banana, bubble gum, and clove. Pretty classic, but neither as pungent or complex as the classics. Taste sadly isn’t as pronounced, it’s watery and not very bold. Very minerally, with muted taste of everything that’s on the nose. Medium-bodied and well-carbonated, but not a beer I’d pay for.
