It has a large frothy white head that has very good retention and make great rings of lace with each sip. The body has a light honey color with a slight haze. The aroma is wonderful and well balanced. It has sweet bready malt with some buttery notes as well as some fruity notes and mild floral hops in the nose. The flavor matches the aroma with a solid malty base that brings buttery and fruity notes with perfectly balanced hop bitterness and flavor. Some of the fruity notes include elderberry and black currant and the hops give some floral and herbal notes to the party. The palate has a smooth silky texture with soft carbonation, a medium body and slow lightly bitter fading finish.

Moon dog floral and spice nose. Pale yellow sticky head. Taste is nice. Peppery honey with an effervescent finish. AirForceHops (7144) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - NOV 28, 2013
Draft. real clear gold color with ample head. English malt and citrus hops. Flavor is mostly the same. Body is lots of bready malt with a weak fruity hop like note in the finish. This style in general doesn’t get me excited so.... I can’t really say anything other then it didn’t have much flavor to me. Maybe if you love ESB’s you will want to order a pint.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy orange brown with a super thick off-white head. Aroma of wort, grassy hops, pale malt. Flavor of light fruits, jam, pale malts, and bitter grassy hops in the finish. Easy drinking, lightly hopped, very tasty ESB.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied for the style and carbonation is moderate. Overall It was a pretty solid beer of the style. It was flavorful, easy drinking and well balanced.

(draught at brewpub) copper with off white head. Bready malt and mild floral hop aroma. Flavor is nicely balanced between biscuit malt and floral hops. A nice bitter. Volsconti (21) - - APR 21, 2012
Not much to this beer. Very mild but awesome art work. Very very easy to drink.

On tap at GLBC on 1/16/12. Clear gold pour with a medium white head. Aroma of lemon and grapefruit with some pale malt. Malty flavor with earthy English hops, before a crisp orange peel finish. This used to be my favorite session beer back when it was distributed, but when they changed the name to "ESB" vs. "Ale", I’d swear they changed the recipe because the citrus seemed to lessen significantly. Either I was full of it or they changed the recipe back because this batch is tasting really good. patrick767 (4063) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - JUN 17, 2010
tap at the brewpub - Pours copper and has a mild, hoppy aroma with some caramel. The flavor is light hops bitterness with bready and caramel malt and a hint of fruit. The bitterness lingers pleasantly. JStax (6364) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - MAY 26, 2010
Having never tasted a Premium Bitter/ ESB I ordered this on tap at the Great Lakes Brewing Co. (on the day it became available to the public) blindly. The aroma is similar to that of an IPA with the heavy hoppiness associated with such beers. As the beer first hits your tongue you can really taste the hops and as you swallow and there is an aftertaste lingering in your mouth, it consists of a nice wheaty, alcohol taste like you would experience with a wheat bear. Overall, This is a very good beer definitely worth getting again.
