Very dark with a small tan head. The aroma is nice, a lot of chocolate and medium roast, with caramel and coffee. The flavor has some rich caramel with smooth chocolate. Smooth body and mellow carbonation.

11/11/16. Draft at Beer Durham. Thinner lighter stout. Slight creaminess but not backed by either a malt backbone or ABV. Appropriately balanced bitterness. Overall low IBU. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

appearance: very dark brown, short creamy light tan head, minimal lacing. aroma: general roastiness, talc, chocolate, coffee, hint of black licorice. taste: bittersweet dark chocolate pudding, coffee, hint of chicory and molasses, toasted oats, hint of vanilla. finish: dry and smooth, with oaty creaminess and some musty, dusty notes. notes: Solid take on the style, would drink again. I had it on tap. It pours black with a tan head. The aroma is chocolate and dark fruit. The taste is chocolate, dark fruit, and oatmeal. It was smooth and creamy. This was a nice oatmeal stout.

Big flavor packed into a session sized ABV. Masterfully done. Aroma was very full and reassuring once I noticed the ABV. One of the few oatmeal stout beers that I actually smelled oatmeal in. This could be because 2 months ago I just started eating oatmeal every day for breakfast but who knows. Pour was a deep dark brown/black with a thin tan film for a head and no light peeking through. Taste was delicious and satisfying. Oatmeal, heavily roasted grains and coffee in the front with a slightly sweet milky but bitter finish. This is a stout for the wives, but is big and roasty enough to please the imperial stout drinker as well. Masterful beer

a sweet stout that is on the light side with a bit of a wine sense to it near the finish. a little smoke to go with some roast. perhaps some nut and meat. or a bit of butterscotch.

12 ounce bottle
In typical Great Lakes fashion this sweet stout provides flashes of brilliance amid streaks of the mundane. For a daily drinker there are worse options. That said I think I will stick to other locals for my stout fix.

Aroma / Appearance - A sandy head melts into the black base. Cool oatmeal cookies sprinkled with sugar and malt offer a thin veneer of interest that fades in a minute or two.

Flavor / Palate - Creamy burnt oatmeal tickles the palate. A dry delayed bitterness provides a tease before things fade into a distant memory. An average sweet stout isnt bad but neither does it have anything that sets it apart from others.
