A very sweet Stout. Pours a dark black with light head. Has a sweet taste with chocolate and coffee - not too much malt. A sweet milk chocolate taste with some coffee, grains, and malts. Not too much a strong aftertaste.

12oz bottle from Xroads. Pours a black center with super dark brown edges and a smaller tight foamy head, a touch thin for an oatmeal stout. Aroma of chocolate malts, vanilla muffin, oats, whiff of coffee. Medium body, fizzy carbonation for an oatmeal stout that is. Flavor is ash, chocolate malts, milk, oats. Meh....

bottle @ Chief Market / Lima OH --- Opaque black color, beige head that drops to a cover, sheets of lace. Taste is lightly roasted malt with the creamy quality of oatmeal that adds nice body. It grows a little as it flows to a lightly hopped finish, quite enough for balance. A solid lower alcohol stout.

Bottle. Aromas are burnt coffee, licorice, nuts and light ash. Tastes odd. The licorice and ashy coffee don’t mix well and there’s some odd dark fruit mixed in too. Thin body. Very little carb. Not my kinda stout.

bottle to snifter. pours a medium to dark brown with tan color head not real lacing almost and oil texture on the glass. the aroma is medium to deep roasted malts, sweet malts, hints of coffee and chocolate. the body is a bit on the thin side for a stout. oatmeal is in the flavor along with the coffee and chocolate and roasted malts. mild bitterness and pretty good. wish this had a little more body but its acceptable.

Gonna sound weird but this tastes like Christmas. I consider Guinness to be the gold standard for Stouts and this is one of the closest I’ve tasted.

Bottle. Nearly black, but brown highlights and a slight off white head. Some oat sweetness, toast, roasted malt, hint of coffee as well in the aroma. Flavor is very similar, with burlap, iced coffee, and dark chocolate. Body seems a bit thin, though velvety from the oats.

I sometimes think the only thing that great lakes knows how to do right is a stout. Dark, roasty and delicous.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run. Near black, medium sized fizzy brown head, fair retention. Aroma of oats, roasted malt, nuts. The taste is roasted malt, oats, nuts, mild hints of coffee, ash. Thin-medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Nice beer.
