very malty but a little sweet, flavour of toasted oats. very smooth with a thick ample palate. Another great beverage from great lakes TINOZACCA (146) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - SEP 10, 2005
This stout is great. The body is not as thick as the major selling stout that everyone knows. And the head needs to hold a little longer. But the body feels great on the palate. The aroma is nutty, coffee, and wheaty. The beer flows down great. And the taste is almost of a nut brown with thick malt and wheat flavors. The beer finishes with a nice bitterness, smoother than the forementioned mass imported stout, and the wheat, malt, and hops really come through in the aftertaste. A great choice to start out the night strong. novels (424) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 5, 2013
A world class stout, enjoyed by draft at Maria’s Tap in Bridgeport, Chicago. A very thick brew, with lots of biscuity sweetness and oily, black, and viscous. Delicious full bodied and perfect homage to a wonderful neighborhood in Cleveland. naussdollar (1) - York, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 3, 2015 does not count
Gonna sound weird but this tastes like Christmas. I consider Guinness to be the gold standard for Stouts and this is one of the closest I’ve tasted. MarkSachon (1010) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 10, 2014
Draft at Caliente in Pittsburgh. Nicely smooth with lots of bold flavor. Thick as a bowl of oatmeal with a ton of molasses on top. Somewhat arid on the finish.

Aroma is dark/roasted malts, dark fruit and a hint of sweetness. The flavor is roasted malts, dark fruit, a hint of chocolate and a mix of mild sweetness and acidity in the finish. blank (996) - Austin, Texas, USA - JAN 19, 2003
a very nice oatmeal stout. a good flavor and a nice balance. one of the better oatmeals that i've had... fiver29 (1036) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - MAY 24, 2008
Growler pours pitch black with a tan head. Has a nice roasty smell with some raosty malts mixed in. Has a light mouthfeel that I wish was a little heavier. The flavors that this beer has is what makes it. It is very chocolatey upfront with a smooth roasted malt flavor on the back side. It has some sweetness mixed in. Overall this is a solid beer that would be a regular in my fridge if they offered it in bottles. This is a great beer. OnTheTrail (491) - Virginia, USA - NOV 24, 2015
Pours black. Tan head. Aroma cocoa, mellow roast malt. Dark fruit., maybe figs. Taste sweet, milky oaty waves, hints of bitter coffee, then a light sweet finish. Obfuscate (567) - Minneapolis, - NOV 27, 2016
