COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rally Drum Red Ale is an American Red Ale, a modern non-traditional style borrowing heavily from characteristics associated with more classical styles such as “pale ales” or “bitters.” This unfiltered copper-colored ale is brewed with a blend of Harrington 2-Row Base Malt, Crystal 77, and Special Roast malts, yielding a toasty layered complexity. Cascade and Simcoe hops add bitterness and aroma.

Tallboy can Beer Run. Clear red, large foamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of caramel, toasted malts, berries. The taste is pine, resin, apple, caramel. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness.

Pint can from Wine Warehouse. Pours red with a large, soft off-white to beige head. Aroma is pine, floral hops, caramel: quite nice. Flavor is nice floral hops, bitter nuts, pine, caramel, resin, citrus. Dry and very solid.

Pours a copper-red with a long-lasting white head that leaves lots of lacing. Aroma is caramel malts with floral, pine, and earthy hops. Flavor is citrus, floral, pine, and earthy hops with some caramel malts and resin. Dry, with a well-carbonated, crisp body. Pretty good.

A great deal of depth in this amber, not of which is indicated by a mundane, caramel-heavy aroma. The taste is a wonderful combination of sweet and bitter, and the finish is resinous then chewy then dry. Enjoyed on tap.

Reddish brown. Everything you would want in a red. Dry red fruits, mild hopping. Malty, yet balanced.

Draft at Hough’s in Pittsburgh. Nothing to rave about here and disappointed that Great Lakes has been dragging through the mud of late. Hope they get better down the road.

Piney and citrusy nose that is overcome by caramel malts. Dark reddish with thick, off-white head. Taste has similar effect, moderate hoppy notes, mostly piney that give way to caramel malts. Slippery on the tongue. Never quite commits to the bitterness or the sweetness.

On tap at whole foods. Nice dark or anguish amber. A little cloudy. Good balance and I like the style

On tap at P&P Charleston. Clear Amber with medium beige head. Aroma is herbal hops, medium body, lower carbonation, and a little lacing. Taste is piney hops , some slightly roasted hops, and bitter finish. Not my thing.
