Bottle at The Only Cafe. Deep brown pour with a thick tan head. Very herbal and spicy. Clove, cinnamon, aniseed and a fairly peppery alcoholic aroma. Sticky palate and a cooling sort of character. Woody sort of astringency. Okay. mabel (9246) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 28, 2013
[5119-20130210] Tap. Roasty sarsaparilla and vanilla extract aroma. Slightly hazy, brown black body with a medium-lasting mocha head. Rootbeery roasted malt flavour is fairly sweet. Medium body. Tasty. (8/3/7/3/15) 3.6

2013-02-10. Black body with a nice brown head. 3+ Nice herbal aroma, sarsaparilla, hints at licorice. 7++ Flavour is similar, quite herbal, sarsaparilla and whispers of anise like quality. Smooth average plus bodied palate. 3+ Nice but a bit rougher around the edges than I had hoped. Rhino Winter Festival, Toronto solidfunk (8953) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - FEB 10, 2013
This beer has a lot of root, not a lot of beer. Pours black, like root beer without the mad A&W foam. Finish sweet and a little bitter. Not sure what the draw is on a beer like this other than novelty. On tap at Rhino Winterfest. Sammy (12204) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 10, 2013
On tap at The Rhino winterfest. Very root beer taste. Black with no head. Extract? OK drinkability but not something I would try again. Not so stout.

Draught at ’Great Lakes Project X’ at Milos’, London, ON. Nov. 17. Served on Nitro. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with a nice average size long-lasting creamy beige head. Aroma of spices (ginger and more) and malt -- I don’t really get anything more then that, smells good though. Nice nitro creamyness to the flavour. Malty and lactic along with ginger and more spices. Average bodied, creamy mouthfeel. Interesting, different, and pretty good.
