Poured from a bomber into snifter a light orange with a thin white head. brian60625 (756) - Illinois, USA - APR 11, 2014
Aroma is citrus some pine.
Flavor is sweet resin somewhat malty yet a dry finish. All over the board with this brew but not in a bad way. Moderate carbonation. A solid GL seasonal especially if you are it ryes.
12 ounce bottle poured in a snifter glass. Given the expiration date that’s 3 months from now, my guess is that it was bottled within the last month and that would explain how fresh it smells and tastes. The aroma was big and sweet - melon, pineapple and tangerine. It had an orange appearance and a moderate amount of foam with moderate carbonation. The flavor was similar to the aroma but a little scaled back...sweet tropical fruit and fresh hops. Very nice stuff! I didn’t pick up on the rye aspects much but I still enjoyed it as a straight forward ipa. Medium bodied and refreshing. Overall very tasty and a great value at under $2/bottle. bottle. clear orange with a small head. melony hop notes and some rye in aroma. flavor has fruity and melon hop notes. seems a bit dusty or funky maybe. light bodied and crisp. somewhat dry. notoriously harsh stingy carbonation and palate from GL. ampp (155) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - APR 9, 2014
Light copper with a light tan, thick, lacing head. Pine smell with yellow citrus. Tastes like hops and grapefruit. Very light and smooth. Not much alcohol bite in the taste. A refreshing IPA

Refrigerated brown 12 oz. bottle, best by June 28, 2014, poured into a snifter. Pours clear light orange with small white head which dissipates quickly. Aroma is grapefruit, medium body, low carbonation, and some small bubble lacing. Taste is grapefruit, pine, and dry bitter finish. drewbeerme (3921) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 7, 2014
bottle. pretty surprised to see this scored this highly on here. i didn’t find the hop character to be all that big in the nose and flavor and certainly was no match for the rather sweet malt base, pretty high on the crystal usage here, fairly boring malt base, some spiciness from the rye. fairly fruity and floral hop character that seemed a bit generic and uninteresting. body was a bit too big and lacked a crisp mouth feel, rather sticky mouth feel. sweet finish. I feel like this beer is caught in between IPA and IIPA and can’t pull it off. Malt base seemed closer to a IIPA being rather sweet while the hops just couldn’t cut it. Lower the crystal and increase some late and/or dry hops and this could be really solid. It’ll do if there’s nothing else fresh around but there has to be nowadays right? hopscotch (11322) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - APR 3, 2014
(Rating #8,500) Bottle... Clear orange pour with a small, fluffy, white head. Good retention. The aromatic standouts are tropical fruits and melons. Medium to full-bodied and heavily creamy with stinging carbonation. Crunchy honey and biscuit malts are overwhelmed by spicy, tannic and acrid hops in both the flavor and the astringent, bone-dry finish. Bottle courtesy of BBB63!
