Bottle. Better Beer Of The Month Club. Hazy orange-amber color with a medium off-white head. Aroma of piney and citric hops, a bit stale, with some rye spiciness and a bit of malt. Flavor has some chewy malt, sweetish and a bit caramelly, fruity notes, strong bitterness with piney and slightly grapefruity hops, a bit stale, and some spicy rye notes. Medium-bodied. Decent, but past its prime.

Draft sample. Poured hazy copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy complex hop and earthy malt aroma. Medium body with slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Solid drinkable brew that exceeded my expectations.

On draught at Gallo’s Tap Room. This beer pours a slightly hazy orange-gold color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops character and flavors of grapefruit and rye malt. The finish is hoppy with a lingering fruit and spicy rye finish. Good beer all around.

I found it to be thin and with not a full-force of flavor. IT has some nice flavors of citrus and pine but is weak for the abv.

Bottle. Before I even open this and pour it, it picks up an extra +1 to overall solely for the name being awesome. Pours a lightly hazed golden orange with a thin white head. Malty and sweet, a bit of rye with some slow citrus hops and caramel. Medium bodied, spicy citrus. Big grapefruit and pungent quinine and earthiness on the finish. Didn’t quite live up to the great name it has, but still a decent enough rye ipa.
