Had this a few months ago and just found the notes. I was not a fan of this beer. I typically don’t care for any non-Belgian beer style using Belgian yeast. I feel it gets jumbled and clashes as this beer did. Aroma was typical Belgian yeast with bubble gum, lemon and notes of grapefruit. Pour was a nice hazy medium orange with a one finger white head. Taste was too muddled. The sweet and peppery Belgian yeast was not a good match for the sweet malt profile. The hops seemed to be an afterthought, but could barely be tasted over the other flavors. Good carbonation. ebone1988 (2122) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - JAN 24, 2016
Bottle shared with koleminer20, out of Dumpster Day box #1. Best by October 8, 2014. Whoops. Aroma is tons of Belgian yeast, banana, clove, slight tropical fruit, pine. Appearance is amber golden, white head. Taste is some tropical fruit, pine, but then BLAMMO we have that terrible Belgian yeast, which, acting with the bitter hops, makes for an awful taste. Mouthfeel is medium body and crisp carbonation, with the bitter hops helping the Belgian yeast hang out a lot longer than it was invited. Overall, this was a silly concept to combine these two styles, and I hope they stop. koleminer20 (3976) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - JAN 24, 2016
12 oz bottle shared with ebone1988 out of Dumpster Box No. 1. Enjoy by 10/08/14. Oh well. This steaming pile is going to by 100th IPA. Great. The pour is a cloudy dark orange with tons of yeasty sediment. There is a thicker white head that falls to a film leaving a couple spots of lace. The aroma is pretty bitter up front but then the hops vanish leaving all of the Belgian style behind. I'm just not feeling it. Lots of bready malts and yeast. The flavor is
A Belgian malt bomb. There is a ton of spiciness and then it finishes with a yeastiness that is just terrible. The malts and yeast just dominate, and there are no hops to help out. Eff this. The mouth feel is thin and watery with a carbonation that almost doesn't exist. The aftertaste is terrible. Spicy Belgian malts and yeast. This is an awful beer. Damnit.

Light amber with a thin head. The aroma has a lot of Belgian style spice and some hops come through. The flavor has the spice and a bit of pepper. Dry finish.

Bottle. Medium bright, cloudy orange-brown body, thick puffy, clumpy off-white head. Nose of tropical fruit, primarily banana with earthy esters and clove. Bitter, estery body with hops in the forefront; tropical fruit juice, peach, clove, pepper and herbal hops. Quite good. fidelis83 (2509) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - JAN 14, 2015
Cloudy gold pour with an amber center and a tall, chunky off white head that has too good retention, meaning you really can’t access the beer under it for a few minutes, true to many of the better examples of the style. Aroma is cereal, dusty wheat, sharp stone fruit, sweet and tart citrus, sweet raspberry, a hint of banana, wet limestone and a hint of toffee. Flavor is dull cereal and caramel right away, some floral, huge grassy and floral hops, sweet and tart under ripe berries, doughy raw yeast, light medicinal bitterness, a little pepper, dried tart apricot heavy stone fruit and a hint of green apple skin. Medium body, creamy to neutral entry, light to medium, slightly sharp carbonation, dry, somewhat chalky and acidic finish. Really good stuff overall, it doesn’t nearly hit the obvious intended target (Orval, or perhaps one of the American knockoffs), but it’s still damn nice. hopdog (13102) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 30, 2014
12oz bottle. Poured a golden color with an averaged sized head. Yeast, spicy, and some fruitiness. rondphoto (4494) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - DEC 17, 2014
bottle @ Vino Bellissimo / Lima OH --- Clear medium amber with a long 1" ivory head, sheets of lace. An interesting "hybrid" brew that works on some levels, not on others. Taste is caramel malt that adds overwhelming floral hops in the palate, then switches to White Ale spices in a finish in which the hops won’t let go. The two sides remain strong, but they don’t agree with each other very well. jmagnus87 (3302) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - NOV 23, 2014
Draft at old chicago. From notes. Loads of citrus and floral hops dominate. Slight spices in the finish.
