Lovely dark amber colour, with a sweet and hoppy citrus aroma. One of my favourite double IPAs, a style I’m just beginning to appreciate. northropfrye (3693) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - JUL 14, 2012
A great double IPA on tap at Great Leap Beijing. Amber colour with a nice creamy head. Some sweetness here, not crazy bitter, but quite flavourful. Beershine (5253) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 23, 2011
Cloudy burnt orange with thick lasting head. Aroma of orange blossom, jasmine flower, orange essence, and passionfruit. Rich bitter finish lingers with orange and chocolate-orange with the solid malt character. Brilliant bitter finish. One of their best brews. Quite muddy darkish amber - Hop God is always an ugly pint. The aroma has piney hops, light citrus, maybe even tomato. The hops are Chinese, and they have a unique character that hints at American but with Asio-Australio influences. Good balance. There is a slight creaminess to the body with light resiny stickiness and a little bit of alcoholic muscle to balance this out. A go-to beer at Great Leap.
