APPEARANCE ? very black, with some dark brown around the edges. Beige foamy head.
NOSE ? solid coffee comes through.
FLAVOR ? strongly coffee. Some stout notes and maltiness comes through, but it takes second fiddle.
NOTES ? the bottle proclaims the coffee steeping process brings out the coffee flavor, not the acid. I?d wholeheartedly agree.

Black pour with an espresso head. Medium bodied. Taste is full of bitter roasted grain. Hints of sweetness come in from the coffee. A little sweetness. Lots of carbonation. Slight metallic taste. bartzluke (598) - Oklahoma, USA - MAY 28, 2015
12 oz pour from room-temp bottle into handled mug. Black and opaque with a huge fluffy tan head. Rich earthy nose. Medium body. A little thin for what I want in a stout, but not bad. Taste is fairly acidic, in a good coffee way. Earthy, with a little coffee bitterness. Ends with a little acidic bite. A bit light for a stout, for my taste at least, but I think it works really well as a coffee stout. Great play between the acidity and the bitterness. robdoerk (12) - Okotoks, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 11, 2015
Coffee is by far the dominant aroma, and smells wonderful. If there are hops in the aroma, they are quite earthy, but the coffee dominance masks them. Very dark brown, opaque, with a tan head that is moderately persistent. Once again, coffee dominates the flavour but there are sufficient dark fruits to add some underlying sweetness: prunes, raisins. A moderate bitterness from both roast and hops balances the sweetness very nicely, to provide a coffee flavour that lingers long after the swallow. Full-bodied, creamy and smooth, tingly feeling in whole mouth lingers long after the finish. Great beer!! BrewDad (5328) - Olympia, Washington, USA - SEP 13, 2014
Beer Bloggers Conference - San Diego - Big dark black stout with tons of coffee aroma and flavor. Lots of chocolate flavor lingers through out the beer

Pours a dark dark brown, with a nice tan head. Aroma of coffee, malt, and chocolate. Taste is slightly sweet, with coffee and malt, maybe some chocolate as well. Very well blended, smooth, and quite drinkable. Thumbs way up. beernovice39 (3270) - Idaho, USA - JAN 15, 2013
On tap at the brewery. Billed as a coffee stout. Jet black with a brown top. Strong roasted coffee and bitter chocolate scent. Taste follows. By far the best beer available during our visit.
