Draft sample at Whitefish brewery. I thought this was a nice porter. Easy drinking and not too heavy. Notes: roasted malt, bitter chocolate, touch of smoke. Pleasant. DuffMan (10271) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 24, 2011
Sampled on tap @ the brewery. Dark brown, quiet beige cap. Roasty aroma, but unfortunately any other nuances were killed by the temperature. Flavours of dark roasted malt, slightly smoky, much like Bitter Root’s Porter I had last night. Elements of chocolate and gentle fruit acids. Soft mouthfeel, light in body. Draft pint at the brewery. Pours medium dark brown, solid clarity, weak lacing, as this was quite gently carbonated. Nose is roast, very slight hop spiciness, some chocolate, sweetness. Flavours are very well balanced, toasty, roasty, medium to lighter bodied, some obvious smoked malt used here as well. Very solid, classic, Porter. Beerona97 (2399) - Washington, USA - MAY 1, 2010
Sampled at the brewery. Dark brown, foamy tan head. Aroma of citrus, roast malt. Taste is more roasty with a medium-thin body and soft carbonation.
