COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In honor of the huckleberries that grow wild throughout the Flathead Valley, we unveiled this summer brew in the spring of 1996. A combination of 75% Western pale malted barley, 25% malted wheat, Cascade hops and wild huckleberry juice from the Flathead Valley, were used to create this highly drinkable, thirst-quenching lager. A delightfully unique fruit beer, this pale summer brew combines the crisp, dry refreshment of a light lager with a subtle, tart hint of huckleberries that is neither sweet nor overpowering.

Hazy golden color,Small head that faded fast.Mild malt aroma with a big emphasis on the fruit,if this is what a huckleberry smells like i think i will enjoy it then it smells pretty decent and sweet with a mild sour tone to it as well.Sweet taste at first then tart that later faded back to sweet.Pretty decent with a slight wheat tone and just a mild hop taste at the very end.The after taste is sweet but not overly so with a decent fruit as well. This is definately a different brew very nice as far as the flavor goes and well done IMO,if you can get this brew you should do it it won't let you down.

This is a unique, crisp wheat beer. I tried it as a novelty, because of the huckleberries. I really enjoyed it.

This has all it's component elements perfectly interwoven - it's a lager and a wheat (wonderful sharpness, wheaty crisp lemony sourness) with great fruitiness (I also don't know much about huckleberries) - this is a great concoction and tied for my No. 1 fruit beer! Wonderfully hazy yellowish brown in the glass. Super drinkable. Thanks, Slikwily.

This is a nice, clean beer, with just that hint of fruit that makes it interestingly different. Not as overpoweringly fruity as the lambic types, just enough fruit that you can get an idea of what Huckleberries are like.

Opaque apricot colour with no head. Fruity aroma (duh). Sweet then a bit sour then dry. The berry flavour is mostly in the finish. It is a bit thicker tan I expected. The best fruit beer I've had. Thanks go to Slikwily.

Copper color with a small head. Strong fruity, jam-like aroma. Lots of huckleberry. Tart berry flavor. The berry is strong enough it seems like it should be sweet, but it’s actually quite dry with a fair hop bite. Some caramelized sugar. A little dusty grain. Nice!

Thanks to slikwily for this one! Caramel, blueberries, and honey in the aroma, very nice aroma. Thin white head, that fades, but is decent. Nice deep gold body. A good brew.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a lightly hazed golden amber color with a one finger head of white foam. The head fades very rapidly, leaving just a lighter level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the beer massive of a huckleberry and almost blueberry like smell. Along with these aromas comes some yeasty and wheaty smells as well as a little bit of a grainy and grassy smell. Taste – The taste begins with a decent sum of a wheaty taste which is matched by some yeast and a little bit of grain. While the huckleberry is lighter upfront, it quickly gets stronger and with it brings more and more sweetness. The huckleberry and sweetness maximize in the middle with the berry then remaining strong throughout the taste while the sweeter more sugary flavor fades ever so slightly. With a little bit of grass and a slight increase in the fruit due to some blueberry flavors coming to the tongue, one is left with a moderately sweet berry-wheat flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thinner side with a carbonation level that is rather high. For the low abv, fruit flavors, and wheat style of the brew the feel is great with it making for a very easy drinking and more refreshing brew. Overall – A somewhat sweeter and berried flavor brew that is still rather drinkable due to its lighter body and low abv. Not a bad summer style refresher, but nothing I would want all that often. One to at least give a go to for yourself to see if you like it or not.

Bottle, thanks dad! Sweet huckleberry aroma with notes of wheat malt and some grassy hops. Pours cloudy golden colored with half a finger of off white head that has excellent retention and good lacing. Starts with wheat malt flavors with a hint of grassy hops. Finishes very smooth and refreshing with sweet huckleberry ending it nicely. Nice summery beer.
