3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hoppy, as the name implies, with a hint of rye and citrus. Aroma is a mixture of rye and hops while the taste is sudsy, piney, vaguely sweet, and bitter (in a good way). ABV is pretty high.
Can - good size foamy head, pretty dark Amber color, big piney hop aroma and flavor, fair malt backbone, resiny finish, very good overall

Aroma - rich malt and piney hops.
Appearance - the body is a clean mahogany, with good nucleation. The head is around 1/3" and beige in color.
Taste - has a rich malt character. The hops are Pacific Northwest in nature, and both piney and pungent.
Palate - full body, oily feel, average carbonation, the finish is bitter and lasts for a good long while. tompete (333) - Tillsonburg, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 4, 2015
Pours a dark ruby with a lacy beige head. Aroma a strongly sweet malty with some spicy hops. Flavour is toasty and bitter. Body is moderately thick. Finish is surprisingly almost dry and not sticky. A lasting broad bitterness. DuffMan (10435) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - APR 24, 2015
On tap @ Radio Maria. Surprisingly dark reddish amber, off white head. Spicy and malty, bready yeast, caramel, hints of raisins, a kiss of soft fruity hops. Nice. rdixon77 (2837) - Georgia, USA - JAN 10, 2015
Thanks to drowland for share. Excellent rye DIPA. Maybe he only rye DIPA I've had. Murky Amber. Hops and rye bread in aroma and taste. Pleasantly balanced. Dank, piney, and spicy. Good.

12/29/14. 16oz can from the Milan Hy Vee. Deep brown amber pour with a nice enough khaki head and good lacing. Nice hop aroma, fruity, a little dank, pine, a bit of spice. Rich flavor, rye coming through quite a bit, definitely hitting me as rye bread, hoppy, dank a bit, fruity. Surprisingly tasty. SrSilliGose (3331) - pouring bus, New Brunswick, CANADA - APR 23, 2014
÷extreme canned bÆst of a rew offered via flair. sweet prune juice, raisins, figs. fig newton offered. taste brings for some soft fruity rumcake booze notes cut by a dry resin pine hop presence. like a hopped up dark barley wine. nice body. booze somewhat welcome component to this beer. don’t really care for any of the parts of this beer (bitter resiny hops, booziness, fig newton/ prune sweetness) but together this highboost beer is somewhat chugeable. better than expected. closed.extreme canned bÆst of a rew offered via flair. sweet prune juice, raisins, figs. fig newton offered. taste brings for some soft fruity rumcake booze notes cut by a dry resin pine hop presence. like a hopped up dark barley wine. nice body. booze somewhat welcome component to this beer. don’t really care for any of the parts of this beer (bitter resiny hops, booziness, fig newton/ prune sweetness) but together this highboost beer is somewhat chugeable. better than expected. closed. esoxangler (100) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 26, 2014
pretty good. too malty for my tastes. My brother brought it to me cause he lives in rock island so its a local thing. Dark, almost stouty color. flavor starts off as a stout would, finishes a little cleaner with the flavor of the hops. very boozy, perhaps one of the booziest beers ive ever tried. cards04 (2809) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - FEB 22, 2014
A great beverage. Aroma are fruity citrus and even some tropical fruit. Dark brown pour with off white head and tonnes of lacing. Flavors are earthy and malty. Even a bit fruity. Resinous and pine sap finish that lingers a long time. Excellent. OscarFalls (52) - excelsior, Minnesota, USA - DEC 25, 2013
Great rye taste in an ultra dark beer. It's like a midnight trip down the Mississippi under the light of a fullish sort of moon.
