Sampled at the brewery. Clear copper gold with an off white layer of foam. This is surprisiingly spicy and earthy. Nicely hopped. Grainy. Noble hops. A nice version. The malts give this a nice smooth feel. Frank (4172) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 30, 2015
This is on the dark side even for an American take on festbier. It’s very clear and almost brown w/ a big foamy head. This is very much a fresh, husky malt-centric affair but not overbearingly sweet. I think this does better as a dunkel or even a scotch ale or something than an Oktoberfest. I like the way it tastes though. crossovert (12642) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 14, 2015
473ml can. File under the very dark-colored oktoberfestbiers. Could pass as a dunkel. Struggles to form a head. Aroma fruity and caramally, light floral note. Flavor is sweet, intensely malty, some nuttiness, reminiscent of a bockbier waay heavy for the style. ryecatcher (1433) - Bridgeport, Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 8, 2015
Can. First beer from Iowa I think I’ve had. Tastes, looks and smells like a märzen. Ja. Oktoberfest ist sehr gut... und das brauhaus ist auch. Prost! BVery (10327) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - NOV 2, 2013
UPDATED: NOV 3, 2013 Can - courtesy of my brother, thanks Kev! Deep orange pour with a smaller head. Caramel sweetness and grain on the nose. Taste is even a little sweeter. Solid beer.

16oz can-dissipating/thin offwhite-amber. A-med malt-caramel, herbal/fruit. T-med malt-caramel, herbal/fruit hops. JStax (6357) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - NOV 25, 2012
Poured from a 16 ounce can thanks to pepsiedcan. Pours a translucent dark copper with a velvety head of beige foam. The aroma is heavily malty with a carrot cake type of spiciness. Taste is initally sweet, but moves to a mellow spiced taste. Finishes with just a hint of dryness. Pretty good Oktoberfest. blipp (9168) - La Mesa, California, USA - NOV 15, 2012
Can. Pours orange with an off white head. Grainy, with some light sweetness, and lighter toasty and earthy notes. Decent. jredmond (8204) - New York, New York, USA - NOV 14, 2012
Can at James’s November 2012 tasting. Pours a clear copper body with thin white lacing. Aroma is lightly metallic, toasted grains and sweet malt. Mouthfeel is lightly crisp, medium and carbonated with notes of toasted malts, wheat, a tad grainy, and some muted hops in the finish.
