We love our local roaster’s New Orleans Iced Coffee so much we decided to use their beans in our brew. Redband Stout is made with Indonesian and Ethiopian beans using our 18-hour cold brew extraction method, resulting in a satisfying brew with intense coffee aromatics. The marriage of two of our favorite beverages.

Pint can. Poured dark brown with a short-ish lived toasted coconut head. The aroma picked up sweet, very enticing coffee and lesser mocha notes, with light earthy and herbal accents.. loved it! The flavor found similar stuff.. tasty, moderately-roasted coffee throughout, with touches of coffee, tobacco, and earth too.. greener coffee beans around the edges.. finished with nice balance and plenty more tasty coffee. Medium-bodied at most on the palate, with just enough carbonation.. very good feel and flow.. great beer!

JPDIPSO (6293) - Wauwatosa, USA - MAY 29, 2017
Nearly black body with a dense, tight bubbled brown head. Roasted malts, coffee, chicory, mesquite, dark chocolate, and hints of molasses and herbal hops wander about in the nose. Flavors are lighter and sweeter than the aroma suggests. Coffee and roasted malt dominate. Some light veggies or green coffee work their way in. 8/13

Powerful coffee and coffee bitterness. It really tasted like iced coffee, next time I might pour some milk in it. And there will be a next time.

From a June assortment pack picked up from Hy-Vee. It poured from the can into the pint glass very black with a long lasting light brown head. Aroma was of the coffee, licorice, and a little oil. Taste matched almost exactly with a little sugar caramel in the "middle" of the profile also. Hops were herbal at best, but un-noticeable. Pretty good to someone who isnt a coffee fan. I wouldnt drink more than one in a session, because of the build up in oil.

Can: Thanks, Jeff. Black lagoon pour; bubbly, thick-looking with a deep tan color head that softy rests upon the colorless abyss. Spotty lacing. Straightforward but enjoyable aroma of timely roasted coffee beans with a faint, yet integral underlying creamy sweetness. Imagine some deep-ass roasted beans. No, not full city roast, or even Vienna roast. I’m talking French or Italian. Hell, maybe even Spanish roast. I mean, this fucker is roasty. BUT there’s this itty bitty titty creamy sweetness that muddles it’s way on board, just in time. Like taking your burnt, charred, & oily ass black coffee, then dropping in about half a gram of sugar & a dollop of half & half. IT JUST WORKS. The palate picks up the sweetness a bit more methodically than the nose & works that to its advantage, amplifying things up a bit to display some parity between the two spectrum bookends. Aftertaste leaves your mouth tasting like what I’d imagine a used coffee filter feels like after a freshly percolated Costa Rican blend. A bit thin on the mouth feel would be my only real complaint. Some people don’t like super duper roasty... Well, I do. This was surprisingly enjoyable.

This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy brown color with a one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was some light speckled lacing here and there in a messy sort of way.
The smell had some light crisp roasty coffee to some light sweet chocolate.
The taste was mainly sweet and tried to hold a respectable roastiness but somehow through this flavoring it seemed like it just wasn’t balanced enough.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat subdued and gave off a clear crisp sweetness rolling over my tongue.
Overall, kinda weird as a stout - I’m not used to having a stout of this nature. Would I have it again? Maybe...

Can, probably from Pepsican. Poured into a snifter. Light brown head that dies almost immediately. Aroma is moderate roast and coffee bean. Taste is watery and burnt. Full of acrid sharpness. gawd I can’t drink this.

16 oz can purchased at the brewery. Black appearance with a fully diminshing head. Strong fresh coffee and espresso aroma. Similar flavor adding light chocolate, roasted malts and earthy bitter hops. Average body, a little thin and watery with soft carbonation.

Pours black with a tan head. The coffee is present in the aroma along with a hint of chocolate and some roasted barley. The flavor is sweet to start with the coffee coming through. Well balanced and very smooth.

Black pour. Lots of strong coffee aroma. Creamy beer with almost all coffee flavour, vanilla, roast malt, but heavily coffee. Pretty good stuff
