Pint can. Poured light-medium coppery-amber with a nice cap of beige head. The aroma picked up semi-sweet, toasted bread and nutty (almond) notes with light grass and herbal accents.. simple and clean. The flavor found semi-sweet caramel and bready notes at the core, with peppery and herbal notes around.. finished dry and a touch grainy. Lighter-bodied and a little tacky on the palate.. easy-drinking overall, but not great.
Delicious malty ale with a hint of caramel and a peppery hop finish. Great head for a red ale. Above average red.

Lightly hazed amber to light copper color. Moderate sized beige head. Grains and grass aromas. Hints of silage as well. Light sweet start. Simple grain flavors with hints of herbal hops. Touch of dirt and slightly rancid nuts in the finish. 8/13

Can. Pours a dark reddish amber color with a good foamy head. Aroma of caramel, citrus and grain. Taste of caramel, bit of citrus and malt sweetness. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. Medium body, smooth and flavorful. Not too bad. csaso (2300) - Missouri, USA - MAY 26, 2016
Can - good size foamy head, nice dark red color, good balanced aroma and flavor, earthy hops and caramel malts, full bodied finish, pretty good overall

Very basic malty beer. No off flavors and not much else either. Nothing but basic grain. Thin fading head.

Had this in a beer competition. Nice appearance but blah taste. No pep or fizz. Usually like Reds but not this one. theisti (4138) - Kansas, USA - SEP 2, 2014
16 oz can purchased as a single at Beer Crazy in Urbandale, Iowa. The pour is a mostly clear golden orange with a 1 inch head that falls fast. The aroma is chemical grain malt along with some sort of weird floral. The taste is a not real fresh cracker malt along with the weird floral dry pepper spice of the nose. The palate is medium to light bodied with harsh carbonation and a dirty finish. TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - AUG 9, 2014
Pours a clear reddish color with off-white head. Caramel, malt, pepper, and some hop resin on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a little more malt. drywallman (366) - Lake in the Hills, Illinois, USA - JUL 15, 2014
I’ve had this on tap at the Riverhouse in Moline with dirty tap lines or something creating an aftertaste. This review is from the pint can out of the 8 pack assortment bought at the Rock Island HyVee.
It poured with a medium red amber hue and a short lived white head. The initial nose and taste is of a caramel like and slightly nutty nature. It gets a little bit sugar-chocolate like in the middle, but not overdone. It finishes with a slightly spruce like hop profile, cancelling out the slight yeast leftover in the middle.
Very good, and very sessionable. FestDecBeet (412) - - APR 16, 2014
