Tap at Great River on Nov. 26, 2011. Dark brown pour. Awesome lactose and rich coffee elements. Terrific. DrnkMcDermott (3099) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - OCT 25, 2011
Draft taster at Great River. Proclaims itself a milk stout, but retains a light roast coffee smell. Black stout body. Some burnt coffee and mocha in the nose and in the palate, more than one should find in a milk stout, at least in my humble opinion. It is well-made, and worth a look from anybody. Just a brewer’s choice that I personally cant’s follow along with. cbfobes (2883) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - JUN 5, 2011
On tap at brewery, pours black with a thin head, aroma is of slight chocolate with a touch of coffee in the finish, the flavor is much of the same, nothing really here to get excited over. cubs (10635) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAR 25, 2011

Tap at the pub. Very dark brown color with a tan head. Roasted chocolate aroma with heavy malts and coffee notes. Taste is smooth with bakers chocolate and heavy bittersweet. Creamy feel with a nice finish. drowland (8730) - Georgia, USA - MAY 13, 2010
5/13/10. On tap at the brewpub in an English pub glass. The pour is opaque black with a very small caramel brown head that fades to nothing fast. The aroma is straight roasted malts with some meat, tobacco, salt, and smoke. The flavor is much the same. SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - FEB 12, 2010
On tap at the brewery. Pours black with a dark tan head. Has a mild roasted aroma. It’s got a good body but is slightly thin. Flavor has a very well-blended sweetness. Slightly smokey finish. Great roastedness. It’s not creamy or smooth. It’s a nice stout in that it’s not too sweet. DietPepsican (1591) - @ $13.99, Iowa, USA - JAN 9, 2010
Black with a small tan head. Roasted nuts, chocolate, toffee, and coffee aroma. Flavor is sweet chocolate, toasted coconut, toffee, almonds, and vanilla. Finishes on the sweet side. If you like dessert beers this might work, but isn’t quite boozy enough to fit in that category for ne. Still decent. DalzAle (2037) - Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA - NOV 28, 2009
On tap at the brewery. Dark black pour, medium carbonation and a good aroma of roasted malts. Flavor was initially slightly smoky, chocolate and finished creamy and light. Very good.
