4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
After pouring this dark golden IPA into my merlot glass to observe its interesting features, I noted the strong aroma of a grapefruit type of hops and swirling unique malt characters I noted later in the taste. The first taste was a vocabulary lesson in hops and as I slowly tasted more of it, the spicy taste seemed to change its personality to illicit more fruity esters which I would usually attribute to heavier double IPA names.
Like a circus bear riding a small bicycle, the Massive IPA packed a large taste that did various tricks as its slowly warmed up in my glass. I was impressed with its volume and weight as I thought it paired well with sharp cheddar cheese and would make a good beer to tailgate with in the company of good friends.
At the source: pours mostly golden with a white head. Aroma is light grapefruit, light pine, and basically basic ipa stuff. Taste is lightly bitter. Somewhat fruity. Kind of meh. ffaoe (833) - Moorestown, New Jersey, USA - FEB 11, 2017

Can’t go wrong with this imperial pale ale. It has a fish on the label, that’s dope. Dorwart (2604) - Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA - JUL 25, 2016
Thin bright white head of fine bubbles with very good carbonation. Sticky malt aroma with some pinesap, pineapple, rose perfume and spices. Color is a ruddy golden orange. Flavor is very lively and crisp, with mint, lemon hard candy, pale malts and some herbs. A little medicinal and very herbal hops as the brew warms. Light alcohol presence. Rather clean palate with a bit of lingering bitterness. A decent IPA. dmac (6395) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - JUL 6, 2016
12oz bottle from Spirits Lakewood. Poured a hazed light orange with a foamy white head. Aroma is sweet, honey topped bread, bread crusts, dough, orange zest, nut shells. Flavor is grainy, medium toast, dry nut shell, dry citrus rind. Medium body with large bubbly carbonation, sort of a tonic water feel. Meh....

Bottle from Capone’s. Pours turbid and bright orangy/straw colored with off-white head. Nose is resiny hops, orange marmaladey fruit, florals, honey. Tastes fruity, hoppy, with notes of orange, lemon, florals, black pepper. Smooth finish. N3lson1 (1005) - Long Valley, New Jersey, USA - MAR 27, 2016
Drank from a pint glass, poured from a twelve ounce bottle, thank you brother Bob! Pours a nice orangy, yellow color with a bit of white head. Smells of floral hops, tastes strong on the hops, but well done with the IPA. Underdogs88 (325) - New Jersey, USA - JAN 24, 2016
Moderate citrus, fruit loop like hop aroma. Appearance is a light gold with small white head for an IPA. Flavor has a similar hop character in the flavor as in the aroma. A slight grassy flavor is noticeable. Bitterness is high. High alcohol flavors are present. Malt has notes of cracker. Mouthfeel is medium with a medium level of carbonation. Overall, it's a below average. Wouldn't buy again.
