Pours a hazy straw amber. Topped by two inches of soft and creamy white foam. Nice head retention and lacing. Prominent banana bread in the aroma.
There’s even more banana in the flavor than in the aroma. Wow, this is probably the strongest banana flavor I have ever had. And it is ripe, or even over-ripe banana at that. I don’t like eating ripe bananas, I like them slightly on the green side. But in a beer, this is really nice. It also lends a little spicy, yeasty, and bready characteristic. Theres’ clove in the aftertaste. What was that sweet clove chewing gum? Beaman’s or something like that? This beer lends some sweet clove that I actually enjoy.
Medium to full body, creamy smooth, and softly carbonated. It feels thicker than it is. beermatrix (1497) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - JUL 25, 2005
Lemon mud color with a white creamy head thats medium to tall in height and keeps to the top for a good length. Nice lacing in moderate sheeting and broken strings.
Aroma is like that of banana cream pie. A fairly prominent musty floralesk yeast interludes behind the banana.
Taste is a bit odd, the front is dull and mildly earthy with a light yeasty spice where it seems a bit mushy of bready malt sweetness with what is like clove and corriander, but I also taste a smidgeon of sea salt and cinnamon. Big banana tang mush plows through to the finish with a sticky wheat malt and loads of fresh banana flavoring thats a tad on a side of artificial-like. Light clove finish.
Feel is creamy and fulfilling within a strident chewyness and mild, firm medium body. Seems like there’s more to it when there’s not.
This is a strange hefe, pretty beefy and heavy-handed compared to most. Big on malts and banana. Didn’t like the weird front to this beer, that, and it also comes across a bit too thick and greasy for the style, but its a drinkable enough beer for what it is. Cloudy yellow color with a thin head. Strong aroma and taste of banana, almost to a banana smoothie point, but it’s more of a candied banana than fresh. Think Runts candy. A good dosage of wheat in the middle brings it back to beer reality. An oddly sweet wheat beer that was really pretty tasty, though I’m not sure I would have been able to finish multiples. robertsreality (2460) - Minnesota, USA - DEC 28, 2005
Strong Dirty Yellow Coloring with White Skin. Citrus Aroma. Yeasty and Wheat Notes as Well. Initial Citrus and Wheat Hit...Nice Wave of Flavor, Backs Off To Make Room for Yeast and Coriander and Ends Lightly Dry. Stine (1781) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 1, 2007
Cloudy, light golden color. Staying white crown. Aroma is slightly distant. Hints of pears, grass and disinfectant. Bubblegum, clove and banana flavors, unmistakably true to form. Moments of foul sulfur tastes. Balanced and refreshing for the most part. Very close to the mark.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2007 July 2005. A great banana aroma. I have never smelled such a strong banana aroma in a hefeweizen before. Citrus and banana flavors. Good, but there just seems to be the smallest thing wrong with it that I can’t quite nail down what it is. Mostly good flavor but thin body. kp (10882) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - SEP 1, 2007

Daft @ Brewpub: A very slight haze, light head and lacing. Nose of bright banana and a touch of nutmeg, allspice with the typical sweet wheat notes. The flavor is very sweet and banana-y. Nice hefe (I think). CaptainCougar (7133) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - NOV 18, 2007
On tap at the brewpub on 6/23/07: Slightly hazy bright goldenrod with a dense, well-lacing frothy white head. Aroma of lightly sweet wheat with mild peppery clove and a hint of lemon citrus. Body starts fairly full with a light wheaty sweetness and some mild citrus tartness before a thinner, bland, lightly doughy finish. A decent hefeweizen. Semi-hazed and dulled golden-orange in color with a milky white head. Aroma staggers with bananas and freshly cleaved cotton, vanilla buttercream and lilac scented dryer sheets. Well-acclimated souring lemons with a touch of banana cream pie and lime accented marshmallow fluff fulfill the flavor. Eased, mild carbonation lends to a medium-body that eventually presents sharper, buttery sourdough traits. Acidity is only around for a short while, but the alpha acid contribution is a touch too aged, bitter and dry. Takes on some pineapple smoothie traits at the outset.
