On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy gold with an off white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of apricot, sweet wheat and coriander with a bit of bitter raspberry underlying. Flavor is very sweet with apricot, wheat and coriander that is joined by some sweet raspberry in the finish. BVery (11361) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - JAN 25, 2009
UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 TAP: at Great Waters, 1/24/2009. Pours a straw/gold and hazy, almost a bleach odor, taste was orange/coriander with some booze. Decent Belgian. JK (6295) - St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA - OCT 12, 2008
A beer I have wanted to try for a long time, I finally found it at the 2008 ABR. Lots of coriander. Citrus and sugar, there is wheat and Belgian yeast. Very sweet for the style, even for a style that tends to be sweet, but a very drinkable beer. One of their best products. BDR (2535) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - FEB 22, 2008
Winterfest 2008. Hazy orange color. Citrus, corriander and belgian yeast on the nose. Similar body, not bad at all. Skyview (6099) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - FEB 13, 2008
On draught during the Winterfest 2008 in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota. Pours a hazy orange amber brew with a thin white head that leaves behind a thin white ring. Aroma of some light multi-grain malt, apple skin, coriander and some light yeast. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with some fruity character of apple skin, coriander, orange and yeast. Finish is smooth with a light multi-grain malt and apple skin aftertaste. A little spicy on the yeast side but still enjoyable.

The smell and flavor of this beer was like sucking on the skins of an unripened orange or apple peel. Pour was a hazy orange with a creamy head. Some coriander as well. Odd beer, not terrible though.
UPDATED: MAR 17, 2007 Burnt Orange/Yellow With White Skin. Banana, Belgian yeast and Light Wheat Notes on the Nose. Initially Very Carbonated....Followed by a Rich Malty Flavor...Yeasty Foundation..Spice Notes...and Lightly Dry Hopped Ending. Very Balanced...and Drinkable...
Rereated From This Year’s Batch March 15 ’07. Cloudy Orange Brown with White Ring. Alot of Belgian Yeast and Spices on the Nose. Belgian Yeast, Bready/Biscuity Notes...Nice Alc Warming and Spices...Crisp Light Dry Ending. Some Bready Citrus Notes Pop Up as Well. Nice ’Strong’ Witbier. incutrav (577) - Woodbury, Minnesota, USA - JAN 26, 2007
My review would be even lower, but I hate this style of beer in the first place, but I think GW made a decent run of it. Lots of sweetness, with the coriander coming threw strong. Wheat beers in genral are not my thing, so not a big surprise that this wasnt for me. Stine (1799) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JAN 17, 2007
Hazy golden yellow in appearance. Citrusy, spicy aroma...I didn’t know that coriander is the seed of cilantro and now it all makes sense. Very nice peppery kick in the flavor as well, while the bittersweet orange comes through strongly as usual...coriander and bananas. This isn’t one of my favorite styles but this example was fairly nice. beermatrix (1497) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - FEB 1, 2006
On-tap at the brewpub: Clouded medium yellow ochre color with a slightly off-white firm cap of, almost, medium height. The cap stays the course for a bit before leveling out to a broken thin skim and thin collar. Not much lacing however, just a few spots here and there.
Aroma is deeply wheaty and sweet with a slight tilt towards some apricot and pineapple orangified jam.
Taste is more of the same with a very well established and forward wheaty sweetness thats favorably breadish and lightly decorated in tropical fruity jam. Broad, long lasting flavors of wheat based malts create one hell of a fine smooth backing as mid-ranged fruits of banana, apricot, and orangallo slide right into the finishing areas, staying full yet paled down with a smidgeon of Belgian candied sugar.
Feel is about medium with a firm carbonation set in wheat malt smoothness that lasts and lasts.
Oh my goodness, I could drink a whole bunch of this stuff! Outstanding drinkability. Its a keeper and well deserved of its 1st place tie at Winterfest this year. Congrats and cheers to more like this!
