Has a strong hop bite to the nose when you crack it open.Hops come through first with malt in the finish. Slightly cloudy because they dont use plastics to take out the sediment.I drink a lot of this and it treats me well.Make sure you check the best before date,I have bought some old stock and its not as tasty.

Being a lager I never expect too much, but this at least has some flavour and something on the palate. Little on the sweet side.

Green bottle (330ml) purchased at Paddington Markets, Sydney. Certified Organic label on neck. Cloudy deep golden pour with negligible white head. Nose is honey sweet grainy malts and little else (trace of earthy hops perhaps). Palate is rather flat and uninspiring with grainy sweet malt flavours and hardly any hop bitterness to speak of. Too sweet. Medium-light bodied. Rather bland and limp.

UPDATED: APR 16, 2012 Reviewed 2008, extract from notes: Golden straw colour with an active white head. Aromas of straw but very little in the way of hopping. As for taste, well it could be just about any green bottle stubby. Cold, a little bit bitter and there. My main beef is that the packaging makes it appear to be just the same as Steineken or Heinlager so expectation isnt very high to begin with. Re-reviewed 17 Apr 2012 Not too much to add barring an improvement to flavour that gave a grassy, resinous bitterness that was prolonged and improved the way I saw this beer.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a white head. The aroma has notes of malt combined with a light note of straw. The flavor is sweet with notes fo malt and straw.

This is a weird one that doesnt quite work. I got straw and toasty notes on the nose, and a very weird green kiwifruit/gooseberry winey note from the hops. Fizzy in the mouth, then finishes dustin the mouth, leaving a taste, like youve been moving hay bales around. Odd really

330ml bottle. Cloudy with a miniscule head and a smattering of bubbles around the edge of the glass. Looks flat and thin.Very little carbonation and nop aroma to speak of . Thin bodied and tastses as flat as it looks.

Hmm it is a challenge reviewing this one objectively. The emotive words "organic" are hard to push to one side. The temptation is to skew it a bit favourably since it is organic. Anyway, the beer itself presents with a mix of slight cardboard-ish aroma and a hint of grassiness. The appearence is golden amber with thin head and fine carbonation. Flavour is slight maltiness upfront with a hint of sweetness and followed with a pleasent bitterness. As a lager, there are some better ones out there, but this is quite good on its own merit and there is a bit of smugness in the "organic" factor.

Pours orange/golden with the typical white lager head. Aroma is very grassy, with a slight malt sweetness. Flavour much of the same, mostly malty. Standard golden lager.

Bottle, a fair bit of carbonation in the bright golden colour with no head whatsoever. A strong sweet malty aroma, slightly buttery. A creamy palate with a more drying finish. Mostly malty creamy flavours, with more hops in the finish. Not much to get excited about, but probably better than most NZ lagers.
