Sample at The Daily Growler. Black pour with a medium light beige head that dissipates steadily. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, yeast and fruit. Light-bodied with flavors of toasted malt, fruity yeast and a bit of spice. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall. Wombata (625) - Kobe, JAPAN - FEB 21, 2013
Aroma: pear, floral, dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate and black licorice.
Palate: very smooth, morphs twice from start to finish.
Flavor: pear, roast coffee, more pear, chocolate on the mid palate and grassy hop, chocolate and licorice.
Comment: like a porter but with a twist: starts with stout richness, then quickly turns dry before broadening out into a smooth finish.

Bottle from Brewdog. Pours almost black with a huge creamy tanned head. Aroma of herbs, yeast, roasted malts, perfume and mint. Taste is light roasted maløts, spicy bitterness, liquorice and herbs, a beer with too many directions, still a tasty one, but too schizo for me, both of us.

Pours a black color with off white foam head. Aroma of zest, vinegar, some mixed fruit, and slight roast. Has a light sweet zesty taste with slight bitters, a tarty vinegar bite and a chalky roastiness through the finish. Thin to medium mouthfeel. Very unique. rader58 (908) - Leawood, Kansas, USA - FEB 14, 2013
Sample at Martin City Brewing Co. Pours dark black. Aroma of lavender, root beer, dusty, floral. Flavor is plastic bandage. Must be the same yeast strain as Rayon Vert. My tastebuds and that yeast dislike one another. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - FEB 11, 2013
