Our second collaboration with Brasserie St-Feuillien, Friendship Brew, is a Black Saison that blends European and American hops, Belgian yeast and a cache of secret spices. The aroma and flavors are enticing, with delicate fruitiness, subtle spice and rounded roast malt characteristics. Bottle conditioning provides lively carbonation and rich beer foam for a luscious body and a lean, dry finish.

UPDATED: FEB 10, 2013 G F or S F, WTF? First at the bocktown then at the vintage ( 2/2013) First rating: On tap at the bocktwon monaca, nice place. Big large black pour, large and in charge. Fading choco moose head. Nice lacing, quite titlating. Mildly sweet aroma; a little flowery on the olfactory. Very little sizzle impressions. Yes, nice intruiging lace. Very little of that typical stout stuff in here dude. Roasty attributes are lacking. Seems to posses some some odd spices in there. Comes across more bitter than it should for a gentle man stout. Yes, a tad medicinal on the finish.

22oz bottle from sefus12, thanks Beau! Pours a black colored body with a bit of a ruby hue and a two finger-width, dense, frothy and creamy, brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is spicy and fruity with lots of Belgian yeast, fruity esters, and piney hops. Touches of licorice, roast, and chocolate with a good amount of pepper and a light clove. Flavor is similar. Lots of spicy Belgian yeast, piney hops with some grapefruit citruses, licorice, touches of chocolate, and a good amount of fruity esters. A lightly bready, somewhat sweet malt backing with a good amount of roasts towards the end as this finishes dry, spicy, estery, and lightly bitter before leaving a lengthy aftertaste with some lemongrass coming through. Medium body and a lively, foamy carbonation. Overall, a pretty cool beer with lots going on. Spicy Belgian yeast and hops with plenty of fruity esters, a good amount of roasts, some licorice, and a light chocolate. Nice one.

Botella. Color marron muy oscuro casi negro con carbonatacion media. Aroma a torrefacto, especias, y acido (brett). Sabor compleja acida, toffe y especias entre las que distingo cardamomo, creo, y clavo.

Bottle. Pours dark with quite a bit of weird colored fluffy head. Aroma is spices and some malt with a flavor to match. Not a beer I like.

Bottle. Gift from Neko-chan. Lotsa spice: cinnamon, ginger, maybe lemon pepper, dirty butchers board, with a good touch of funk. Pitch black with a thick rocky tan head. Both sour and bitter in the initial; spices jump out, along with some mild chocolate; final goes into a moldy harsh dark sewer. Medium body. Interesting stuff that doesnt quite work. Somehow the spices both add to and detract from the saison character. At first, they worked well with the chocolate notes; later, I just wanted them to go away.

Bottle at Red Monk. Its impossible to not buy a beer called Frienship Brew. Cant be done. Nicely dry, a bit roasty. Some licorice. Odd, but it works pretty well for me.

[5010-20121208] Cask. Spicy mint malt aroma. Black body with a quick creamy off-white head. Spicy jalapeno roasted malt flavour. Medium-full body with quite a spicy base. Not really a fan, too spicy. (6/3/5/3/11) 2.8

UPDATED: OCT 29, 2013 This is one of the stranger beers Ive had in awhile. Incredibly spicy, almost like a Christmas beer. Tastes heavily of cloves, pepper, and nutmeg. Nicely bitter, with a dark appearance and a ton of head.

Bien hecha.
