"The Belgian yeast kinda overrides the rye here, which is why I chose belgian ale and not rye beer. Either way...a little confused, with muddled aroma and flavors. They were nice, just unfocused to the point where it was hard to say what you were drinking. I wonder if this was fresh..." marcus (10221) - Sacramento, California, USA - APR 5, 2013
On tap at Capitol Beer, Sacramento. Pours reddish copper with a nice beige head and a yeast and citrus aroma. There is a medium-bodied smoked malt flavor with a raspy finish. Lots of flavor for a sub-6% brew. JoeMcPhee (9426) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 16, 2010
Tap at Rattle N Hum. Ruddy amber pour with a thin white head. The nose is really herbal and spicy with loads of rye malt character. A bit of soft chewy, grassy character over a bright lemony/citrusy nose. Quite bready with a lot of soft fruit and spice balancing it out. It’s pretty understated compared to some of their other anniversary beers, but it’s very nice.
