On tap at Downtown Johnny Browns, 8/13/10. When I hear "Belgian" "Rye" and "Red", that gets me going. Add Green Flash as the maker, and now I am positively dying for a tasting. Sadly this had little in flavor at all. About what you would expect from a Red ale from a vanilla producer. Who knows, the batch may have been old.
Copper-orange color with nice white head. Lightly sweet, moderately dry and a piney-earthy hop character and sweet malty body. Lightly piney-hop aroma.
Notes/: Tasted at the brewery slowrunner77 (11917) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 10, 2014
"The Belgian yeast kinda overrides the rye here, which is why I chose belgian ale and not rye beer. Either way...a little confused, with muddled aroma and flavors. They were nice, just unfocused to the point where it was hard to say what you were drinking. I wonder if this was fresh..." DedicatedToFun (4000) - Santa Monica, California, USA - OCT 19, 2013
Awesome belgian red rye, on tap at the brewery, rich and malty, sweet, good stuff Ibrew2or3 (8607) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - SEP 24, 2013
On tap at Flanny’s in Tempe during the tap takeover. It pours with an opaque copper body that has thin gold edges and supports an off white head. The modest aroma offers up sweet malts, a faint malt roastiness, red apple flavored hard candy and spicy Belgian like yeast. The taste is similar with malt and red apple sweetness rolling into a mix of smooth Belgian yeasty spices and candi sugar. The finish has some light roasted malt notes and earthy tea hops that are somehow getting through the spicy and sweetness and rounding out the experience nicely. baraciisch (3187) - California, USA - SEP 1, 2013
Hazy red orange, almost cider looking... Aroma of sweet malts... Flavor is spicy rye malts, grains, caramel, finish of Belgian yeast.... Solid

not too spicy a bit soapy. A touch spicy. Not so well balanced. Hops and rye don’t complement, they clash. bhensonb (15094) - Woodland, California, USA - APR 24, 2013
