COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our American-style Barleywine undergoes a three hour boil to intesify the caramel malts and the enormous Pacific Northwest hop charge. The result is a rich, estery brew with toffee notes and citrus hop flavors layered throughout. Enjoy this brew fresh today or lay it down for aging to see how the flavors of each vintage evolve.

Bottle @ Brewdog, Edinburgh. Pours amber with a decent head. The nose is rich in toffee and oranges. The taste is more oranges, perhaps chocolate orange but probably closer to honeycomb. The palate has a really big structure with a big tangy texture, but somehow it manages to finish quite elegantly. Overall, a lovely beer.

Green Flash Barleywine is aggressive in all the right ways. This beer is intensely hoppy and intensely malty. While the hops gain the upper hand, theres enough malt in here to control the bitterness. Tastes like English toffee finished by citrusy hops. For all the booze and Pacific Northwestern hops, I couldnt help feeling that this Barleywine drank a lot easier than it should have. It may be intense, but the balance is done brilliantly.

Draft. Hug malty and cascade type hop Jose. Deep orange to red with medium light tan head. Taste is huge in hop bitterness and malt chewiness. Decent Garbage.

Draught at Harrys Hofbrau. Weirdly pleasing blend of both rich caramel malt and citrus hops. Clear copper with surprisingly well retained white head. Flavor follows aroma, but there is a sharp bitterness on the back half of the palate that prevents this from being top notch. Meadow and fresh cut grass appear in the flavor as it warms. tasty.

Buensima. Tiene mucho cuerpo, poco gas. El alcohol est muy bien integrado. El sabor final es con tonos a regaliz y un punto afrutado.

Bomber. Pours a cloudy amber brown with a short lived beige head. Aroma is caramel, spice, hops. Flavor is caramel and spice. Finish has some herbal quality to it. Full body, weak carbonation.

650ml bottle. Caramel malts and a subtle hop profile. Almost like a sherry due to the sweeter backbone.

Sweet candy like aroma. No heat, no hops. Nice reddish brown color with off white head. Tastes like green apple and toffee with just a slight hint of hops in the aftertaste. The bitterness at the end cuts through the sweet just right. Still no booze heat and insanely drinkable for the ABV. Smooth palate, medium carbonation, strangely refreshing for a barleywine. Strongly recommend. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
