COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

Excellente !

Bottled poured into a snifter. Pours black with a tan head that dissolved quickly. A complex aroma with hints of coffee, semi-sweet chocolate, oak barrels, and malted milk balls. Initially big and roasty with some hints of dried dates and prunes. A very small alcohol kick to the aftertaste with lots of coffee ground bitterness that lasts. Great body and carbonation that is just lively enough. Wow! I took a flyer on this one in a mix-and-match sixer and was rewarded with a great beer. Be ready for a bold and bitter (in a good way) beer.

Bottle, 355ml. Opaque dark brown with a creamy brown head. Aromas of roasted caramel, dried fruits, chocolate with a slight smokiness and sourness. Robust bodied with moderate carbonation. Rich and smooth, with delicious sweet malt character and a complex fruity and alcohol finish. Very pleasant.

Rating #1559 -20.03.2015 - Birthday Brew Tour Stop #3 - On tap at Green Flash. Beautiful dark brown pour with a fairly foamy tan head with mild lacing. Aroma is earth, molasses, soft fruits. Taste is bubbly mouth feel, bold earth and coffee layered with hints of vanilla and chocolate, plum, raisin, currant. Very Belgian-esque, but pleasant.
