COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Golden naked oats mashed with dark crystal and robust roasted malts create a luscious black brew with a satin smooth finish. Layering UK Target hops in the boil adds a pleasant, earthy complexity while higher fermentation temperatures enhance the overall flavor with fruity esters. An old-world style, done the Green Flash way. Big, bold, flavorful and complex – Double Stout.

Pours black with a big, bulging, brown head that dissipates to nothing. Smells like a chocolate milk shake, maybe a bit of coffee. Very bittersweet on the tongue, and left behind a roasted coffee aftertaste. This was a decent, medium bodied beer.

12oz bottle @ home. Very dark brown with reddish edges. Nose is dark roast coffee and bourbon barrels. Flavors are burnt roast malt, coffee, dark chocolate, toffee, chicory. Full bodied. The long finish is first roasty, then bitter espresso, then bitter chocolate. Appropriate alcohol. Really nice.

Bottle from the Bristol Beer Emporium. Pours black with a purple tint, and an average sized tan colour lasting head. Aroma is a heady mix of chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, dark fruits and treacle. Medium sweetness, quite heavy on roasted bitterness. Medium/full bodied with a slick texture. Finish is of bitter dark chocolate, dry, but with a creamy edge. Quite delicious.
