UPDATED: JAN 28, 2012 Pours pitch black with a large mocha head. Smells of chocolate and hints of roasted notes. Tastes very bitter, of roasted coffee. Full-bodied with a smooth, gummy texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Green Flash Double Stout finishes with some hop bitterness. davidm (2081) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - FEB 13, 2012
Bottle from Purvis. Masterpiece, full marks. Aromas of caramel, vanilla, milk chocolate, liquorice, and hints of oak. Taste is sweet and bitter, with very long length. Palate is creamy, and full bodied. Dark, with a frothy and lacey off-white head. eastbayjay (9) - California, USA - MAR 27, 2012 does not count
I was totally blown away by this mellow flavorful double stout. Since it's a Green Flash beer I expected to be knocked on my ass by An intense beer, but I'm floored by all the subtle nuances this brew offers.

Heavy smell, smooth flavor and full body. For a beer so dark it feels so light on your tongue but still delivers a full body. PawelD (311) - Gdańsk, POLAND - JUL 7, 2014
Piwo butelkowe. DrBulger (1) - Utah, USA - AUG 29, 2014 does not count
Green Flash Double STOUT, has the aroma, taste and feel that an excellent stout should have. This is no Guinness! I went and toured the beautiful Dublin Guinness Storehouse this summer and drank their watered down, beer for the ignorant tasteless McDonald myopic masses. Yuck! Green Flash Double STOUT is the absolute opposite! If you want a big beer 9%, with great aroma, huge taste, smooth feel and clear complexity ... then look no further. I would rather buy one Green Flash Double STOUT than a 12 Guinness draft in the Dublin Guinness Storehouse. By the way, I travel a lot and NO WHERE in world, Prague, Berlin, Brussels, etc. can compete with US Craft Brews! We are changing the world from bland Light and Dark Lagers to incredible tasting ales, all because of the advancement of brewing technologies, and clean yeast strains. For those in the know regarding craft brews the US is famous, and I am not very patriotic or hold to our US foreign policies.
Bottom line: You have not tasted a good stout until you have tasted Green Flash Double STOUT!
Can’t wait to drink it after a day of skiing.

This is a winner. Up there w Gr Divide Chocolate Yeti or Epic Big Bad Baptist. This is full throttle flavor but everything in the right proportion. Too many dark grogs mess things up by adding too much chocolate malt and it overpowers the rest of the malt. I love a beer that hits it out of the park. My heart skipped a beat or two drinking this 10 oz pour. Not a sissy bier. malthopyeast (6) - - AUG 28, 2015 does not count
living in new york city, one thinks of green flash purely as a brewer of IPAs. then along comes this stout and...it’s fantastic. shows what great brewmasters these guys. they’re not confined to hops, and, judging from the videos on their website, they’re not confined to anything. this is one hell of a stout. i can’t describe it the way most of the people on this site can, but i know a great stout when i taste it. cheers, green flash!
