Definitely one of the best tasting stouts around! This brew poured up a near-black body with a one-finger bubbly head with amazing retention and lacing effects on the glass. Aromas of rum, vanilla, chocolate, espresso, dark fruits (plums, figs), roasted malts. Flavors of the same but are so well-balanced. Medium- to Full-bodied, rich and thick, smooth and creamy. Refreshingly clean finish with no harsh aftertastes whatsoever. Beer_snob (6) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 13, 2011 does not count
Bought at Trader Joe’s in Grossmont. Drank in a frozen glass mug.
Appearance: Extremely dark with a thick pillowy head. Plenty or rings on the glass as it was consumed.
Aroma-Coffee and hops, the way a stout should smell.
Taste: Coffee, vanilla, and chocolate mixed with piney hops.
Palate: Very pleasant. This beer tastes great and does not overwhelm your taste buds. Many people mistakenly think that dark beers are overwhelming, but that is simple not true. I’ve had IPA’s and Strong Ales that are stronger than this.
Overall: A great showing from Green Flash. I will definitely pick some more of this up. MarkSachon (1023) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 9, 2012
12 oz bottle from The Beerhive in Pittsburgh. Dark and chewy, just like a double stout should be. Some tart flavors on the mouthing are reminiscent of the Irish Guinness family’s formulas. Smooth all the way down and quite delicious. zacgillbanks (5185) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - MAR 17, 2013
Bottle from Brewdog website. An inky black beer with a quickly disappearing bright brown head. It has very rich chocolate and liquorice flavours, slight red fruit, more milk chocolate and a roasted finish. Superb!! TourDeBeer (123) - your mummas pants, AUSTRALIA - SEP 29, 2013
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm it’s raining and I have a double stout. Great head retention bold flavour big aroma. Will buy this again!
Chocolate and coffee finish, lasting for a while. Mild carbonation, will need to be more careful on the pour next time. Creamy texture.

UPDATED: NOV 9, 2014 Poured from a 12oz bottle. Aroma is malty and roasty. Flavor is a bit boozy at first but finishes slightly chalky. Has an ever so slight cherry flavor but I pick up more of a molasses flavor overall. This beer is very smooth and easy drinking for 8.8%. It says on the bottle "taste enlightenment". Yes it is! Pours from the bottle opaque black with hints of red and a dark tan creamy head. Good lacing. Aromas of coffee and chocolate. Flavor is mildly bitter with sweetness, chocolate, dark fruits, caramel. Very rich. Perfect mouthfeel, dense but not thick. Delicious. Bitter finish. rajendra82 (1093) - Alpharetta, Georgia, USA - JAN 1, 2014
Very imposing pour, as the solid black body was topped with a two finger thick, khaki colored, head. The look was pitch perfect for the style. The smell strongly of coffee, chocolate, and toffee, and faintly of almonds. The taste was very evocative of coffee and chocolate as well, followed by a boatload of hops, then roasted grain astringency, and finally a brown sugar sweetness. The mouthfeel was creamy and thick. This was a heck of a beer. coyforce (684) - California, USA - AUG 7, 2014
Delicious smooth flavor. pour is a nice pitch black with a thin brown head. phikus (96) - syracuse, New York, USA - OCT 28, 2014
Green Flash does it again. This has all the flavor and aroma you would expect from a stout. The malts are well balanced and the oats provide the perfect smoothness. Abv is undetectable. Wish this was a little roastier and alittle thicker. Awesome stout though.
