Draft. Gold. Big white head. Soft hop nose. Big hop front and middle. Pepper. Sweetish aftertaste. Very nice. TimE (5809) - Tokyo, JAPAN - DEC 14, 2009
Cloudy golden color. Chalk white head. Very grassy, huge hoppy nose. Massive grassy hop attack in the mouth. Full on hop assault and one of the hoppiest palates I’ve come across. A touch of diacetyl, that somehow adds to this beer! Bitterness is unfathomable to any regular drinker of yellow fizzy beer. IBU stands for I Beat U with hops sucker. This is a Bohemian Pils on ’roids. Marion Jones drinks this shit everyday I am sure! gd4evr (13) - Mar Vista, California, USA - APR 18, 2011
I love that this beer is a dig on Greg, the owner of Stone. Don’t get me wrong, I love Stone beers (well, a lot of them anyway), but I am not into the whole Arrogant Bastard, gargoil devil schtick.
It’s a pilsner and a pretty darn good one, especially for SoCal where everyone is trying to make them bigger and heavier. I put it a notch above Mama’s Lillte Yella Pils from Oskar Blues and a healthy notch below Prima Pils from Victory.

Had as East Village Pils. On tap at Brews Bros before the festival.. . Pours gold .. Very nice bitterness, good crispness .. Mild linger of pils . Enjoyable.. . . You’re from Amarillo, cool- so you like armadillo’s? StanMemTn (59) - Memphis, Tennessee, USA - SEP 23, 2013
Flying Saucer Cordova- on tap as East Village Pils. A very satisfying lager. Well balanced with gentle hops.

Hazy yellow-orange hue, very thin white ring of foam. Nose is spices, pale malt, grass. Flavor is pale and toast malts with a big bitterness amped by the carbonation, grassy hop flavor and high bitterness, finishes dry. Light body, high carbonation, slick texture. A flavor packed Pilsner, just outside the session abv range, still quite drinkable and a nice variation on the style. poisoneddwarf (2511) - Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, USA - FEB 6, 2016
On tap at Growler Guys CDA. Pours clear golden with a thick white pillowy head with great retention and sudsy lace. Aroma is light wet hayfield, floral, wheat cracker. Taste is pleasantly bitter, a bit grainy. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Good pils. StefanSD (2451) - Ouray, Colorado, USA - AUG 27, 2009
UPDATED: JUL 6, 2011 On tap at Stone Brewery. Pours a 18K golden yellow color with a small white head. The aroma is soft with herbal basil, grains and hops. The flavor is hops forward with biter walnuts, biscuit and spicy hops. The palate is full and a bit gritty. The finish is incredibly long and dry with lingering bitter-spicy hops. Overall: A very tasty Pils, congrats Green Flash.
Re-rate note: 6-23-11 from the bottle (Chuckvar): Wow its been two years since I first tried this and they have really ramped up the hops. Very tasty! crossovert (12874) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 5, 2013
Apparently not retired. It’s a good noble hoppy (and very hopppy) and smooth drinking amero-pils. Kinz (3786) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - DEC 29, 2013
Growler from Whole Foods. Pours a light gold, nice head, very slight head. Aroma is hoppy and grassy, with a bit of grain. Flavor is a match. Sort of a German style pils in the hopping, but has just a bit of lingering sweetness on the finish that is more Czech in nature. Thoroughly enjoyable, love a good pils.
