The ale pours dark amber in color with a long lasting tan head. As the head diminishes, lacing appears on the glass. There are basement aromas combine with faint spices. The is a roasted malt taste along with yeast flavors and an alcohol kick as it goes down. jrodooo5 (1689) - DOVER, Delaware, USA - JUN 2, 2014
Lovely Maroon pour w/ a tan head that leaves a nice ring of lacing. The aroma has a light malt & fruit thing going on. The taste is very good upfront full of fruit & malt but I’m not a fan of the pretty bitter finish. It’s quite creamy & smooth on the palate & overall a good beer! Pours a darker amber color with off-white head. Dark fruits, malt, and some spice on the nose; follows onto the palate. Simply a well done strong ale. mgajdaczewa (2220) - Katowice, POLAND - MAY 25, 2014
Słodki aromat kandyzowanych owoców z domieszką karmelu i ziół, wyraźny likier alkoholowy. W smaku alko lepiej przykryte, choć obecne, sporo słodyczy, ziołowa goryczka, lekki piołun, przypalony karmel, troszkę melasy, finisz wytrawny, z lekką ziołową goryczką. Bardzo smaczne, rozgrzewające i pełne. Philym (1003) - St Neots, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - MAY 16, 2014

Pours a nice dark brown color with a thick cream head. Aroma is molasses, hops, caramel, nutty, dark fruit, cereal. Taste is sweet, dark malt, molasses, bread, caramel, nutty, slight fruit, and then a kiss of bitter at the end. Very drinkable, warms up nicely, good beer. Slipstream (2661) - USA - APR 26, 2014
A foamy dark pour with amber highlights. The aroma is sweet and nutty, with dashes of yeast, hazelnuts, and flowers. Interesting flavor - bready and nutty, with some brett mingling with the nippy hops. There is a little coffee in there too. Surprisingly high ABV. Another fine brew from Green Flash. Poured from a 22oz. Isn't know what to expect when I read "mysterious dark ale" on the label. Even more confused when a dark stout-like beer came flowin out with a coffee-foam head and nice malty ale aroma. Great smooth taste of chocolate, and molasses with some sweetness. This drinks like a stout but doesn't drop off to a bitter ending. It stays relatively balanced throughout. No boozy taste, which is remarkable, given the 9.1% batting average. Really nice beer.

Deep, dark fruity flavors on top of a caramel malt. Smooth and full, fairly strong, just a bit of hoppy bitterness. jmcgavin12 (492) - Madison, USA - MAR 16, 2014
Dark brown pour with one finger of off white head. Aroma is bread with caramel and a bit of roasted cereal. Slight yeast and hop as well. Flavor is light to moderate with a slight booze finish. Delicious beer.
