Aromas of pine, citrus, dank, slight tropical notes. Cloudy copper with thick white head. Delicious hop flavor, sweet tea, fruity aftertaste. Carbonation married well with bitterness and alcohol. Alengrin (5629) - BELGIUM - JAN 3, 2016
Bottle at Billie’s Bier Kafétaria in Antwerp. Snow white, dense, moussy, stable and lacing head over a hazy orangey golden coloured beer. Lovely DIPA aroma of pink grapefruit flesh, tangerine, papaja, paprika, toasted onion, sundried tomato, white pepper, cigarette tobacco, fried chicken, raw celery, hemp, toasted brown bread. Crisp onset of orange, pineapple and mango, sweet but in a clean way and paired with soft sourish and umami flavours for balance, medium carbo, thick caramelly malt body, smooth, biscuity with a toasted edge, beautifully supporting a rich, aromatic hop character unfolding in the finish, long, drying, very deeply bittering to the point where it becomes almost a bit ’abrasive’ so this a treat for hopheads, but not for the less experienced beer drinkers, I guess... Retronasal citrus and pine aromas and a dash of warming, whisky-like alcohol bring an end to this symphony of flavours. Certainly among the better DIPAs I had so far. Tap at the Bridgetown Tavern in Ambridge, PA. Immediate tastes of heavy hops with an arid feel all the way down. The high alcohol is a plus.

Mouthfeel crisp, ,medium alcohol warmth, low-medium carbonation. Taste is sweet orangey notes, tropical fruit, and an assertive bitter kick in the teeth. Very strong hop and malt aroma, nice cloudy dark golden color. A little bit of hop on the initial taste, but it quickly fades to malt and alcohol through the after taste. Has a very malty flavor after. Want to see how this opens as it warms up
