COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full-bodied Triple IPA, Green Bullet combines New Zealand grown Pacific Gem and Green Bullet hops. Significant pine and citrus hoppiness hit the palate at first sip, accentuated by tropical notes of mango and pineapple, ending with a moderately aggressive, bitter finish.

Huge IPA here. Pours orange with good head and lacing. Big smell of citrus and pine. Almost a little spice and mint. Some light sweet malt, hints of caramel. Finishes very bitter. Soft carbonation. Tap at Churchkey.

Bottle. Lots of gum, tropical fruit / guava / mango, bell pepper, light solvent when warm, some dirty ethanol, resin and orange oil. I can see similarities to Nelson and other Kiwi hops with such a strong tutti-frutti bubble gum and floral tropical fruit aroma. I think the design was to have high acid hops cut the sugary malt, okay so it does that well, but that’s what double IPA often is. I picked this up in order to give Green Bullet hops another try but i definitely don’t think much of them. Better than Cites or Mosaic but nothing like Nelsons for me in this beer. The nice thing is that the body is soft, the carbonation low and creamy, just too sweet and too bitter.

Bottle - 08/27/2013 date. Pours hazy orange, large orange-beige head that dissipates with nice lacing. Aroma is light, notes of pine, citrus and grapefruit. Flavor is the same, light sweet and medium bitter, resinous and dank. Medium body, oily mouthfeel. Nice beer, but I am afraid that the tropical notes have faded in the six weeks in bottle. ABV extremely well hidden.

Bottle to snifter. Looks solid; a completely transparent burnt orange with foamy head somewhere between off-white and light beige. Smells solid; not Triple IPA hoppy though. Somewhat reserved citrus hops and sweet pale malt. Tastes like it smells with a good mouthfeel. Good, not great.

drowland (9080) - Georgia, USA - SEP 25, 2013
9/25/13. 12oz bottle from Grassroots. Almost clear golden orange pour with a great head and lacing. Lots of hop character, very dank and resinous, sticky, stinky, and some onion. Bitter flavor, mild balancing sweetness, grassy, green, floral hops, very dank again, mildly oniony and dishraggy. Not bad.

On tap at Flanny’s in Tempe during the tap takeover. It pours with a clear copper body that supports a thin white head. The aroma is full up fir tree reminding me of the first time I tried Winter Yulesmith. Behind the big sap, pine cone and pine needle hop notes I get a modest amount of sweetness and a light sense of booze. The taste is full and big with robust levels of malt sweetened fir tree and pine sap hoppiness. The hops have loads of both flavor and bitterness. It then rolls toward a pleasing smooth fairly thick sweet malty body finish. Yummy relaxing sipper. Dig it! If you’re in the mood for something tame and subtle try a different beer.

12oz bottle pours a clear orange with lots of frothy, sudsy, lacing white head. Nose is kind of like cutting open a pouch of hop pellet, really fresh/dank green cut grass, a little lemon curd, some soap, sort of a wet aloe thing happening too. Flavor has more of that lemon curd, sweet and bitter at the same time, some soap and more of that aloe character, but mostly just grass, like the stuff that clumps to the bottom of the mower. Crisp finish. A different take.

Dràft at Pony Bar HK with street. Pours a clear amber body with thin white lacing. Aroma is funky melon and fruits - almost putrid, but in a good way. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of sweet, funky dank hops. Really nice, comes off as an imperial Nelson beer.

12 ounce from The Beer Trappe. Big clear amber pour. Mango. Tropical fruit. Big bitterness. Some of the green onion these triples project.

UPDATED: DEC 27, 2013
35,5 cl bottle @ Viisi Penniä, BBE 01.04.2014
Aroma is heavy with pineapples, caramel and woody notes. Flavour is sweet and somewhat woody with lots of hops, pineapples, gluey notes and a feeling of alcohol in the background. Finishes with herbal tones and more alcohol. Just too boozy.
