This American-style Black IPA is nearly jet black and perceived to have high hop bitterness, flavor and aroma with medium-high alcohol content, balanced with a medium body. The appearance may trick you into thinking you are about to enjoy a traditional stout beer when in fact your senses are about to be overwhelmed with our Black IPA. Juicy, fruity, floral, and pine from Pacific Northwest hops gives the beer a classic West Coast IPA hop character. The Black IPA is further characterized by a balanced and moderate degree of caramel malt and subdued dark roasted malt flavor and aroma. 7.2% ABV, 85 Hops used: Warrior, Citra, Cascade

Backlog, Draft pours auburn with off white smaller head. Smell and taste are pine, bitter hops, roasted malt, light chocolate, brown sugar. Light malt which is nice to see in a black ipa. Carbonation is light with a heavier mouthfeel

With Z, pours pitch black with a nice Java colored head, could easily be mistaken for a stout . Nose is sweet caramel and malt with pine and hops mixing in nicely . Taste is bitter chocolate malt with nice pine and resin . Finishes on the same tasting notes with a moderately long finish . Quaff Score 8 / 10

Pours pitch black and opaque with a one finger beige head that has good retention, slowly fading into a lasting ring. Streaks of splotchy lacing left behind. The aroma has a subtle toasted malt presence along with a nice dank, floral hop character. Smells similar to a regular west coast ipa but with a touch of robust malt. Very floral, citrus-y and tropical smelling with resinous, grassy pine and dark roast. Hints of grapefruit, orange peel and pineapple followed by grass, pine sap, oatmeal, toast, dark fruit and lightly roasted coffee bean. Unfortunately, its not as complex as the nose suggests. Lots of dry bitterness but this comes more from slightly acrid and roasted dark malt. Tropical/citrus notes from the aroma arent really showing up on the palate. Sticky and resinous hops with grassy pine needle followed roasted chocolate malt, oatmeal, coffee bean and burnt toast.

Negra casi opaca. Minimamente rojiza al trasluz. Abundante espuma manchada. Aroma eminentemente lupulado, herbal, pino y tambin notas ahumadas. En boca, textura suave y gas contenido. Compleja. Cuerpo.

Bottled. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, citrus, caramel, floral hops and resin. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and solid bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation. A very nice Black IPA,

Smak: dosyć słodki, słodowy z posmakami tostowymi, czekolady, kawy, karmelu i lekką palonością. Dość szybka chmielowa kontra z wyraźną goryczką i przesuniętym w tę stronę balansem. Raczej czysty smak bez nut niepożądanych. Goryczka i odczucie w ustach: wyraźna owocowo- żywiczna goryczka, lekko drażniąca i dosyć długa. Średnia pełnia, umiarkowane wysycenie i lekki alkohol ogrzewający przełyk. Trochę lepka i gęsta konsystencja.
