Pours a hazy bright golden orange with an off-white medium dense head. Bright, pleasantly weedy, fresh herbaceous aroma with some dark citrus and earth notes and a slight touch of maltiness. Straightforward strong bitterness with earthy and dark citrus hops flavors and well-integrated malt and alcohol. Extremely well-rounded mouth-feel with extraordinary balance with prominient bitterness that really works and very little malt sweetness yet posesses great structure and strangth. beerme420 (50) - Corona, California, USA - JUL 29, 2007
Golden red color with fizzy small white head. Dry finish with hoppy taste. can detect the malt in this one Magjayran (1379) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JUL 28, 2007
I was super excited to try this one and a bit dissapointed at the end. Still a good beer. Clear orange beer with a small white head. Some orange and maybe apricot in the aroma but it’s mostly very floral. Nice bitterness upfront, maybe a little piney. Unpleasant alcohol finish. It’s a good beer but nothing super spectacular. eyesandsmiles (179) - Mission Viejo, California, USA - JUL 25, 2007
Extraoridnarly drinkable double ipa. Huge taste with loads of hops and bitterness. Exactly what you are looking for if you are into big IPA’s. lb4lb (2632) - Austin, Texas, USA - JUL 23, 2007
UPDATED: JUL 11, 2008 A Very nice bright, piney, citrusy hoppy aroma. Slightly long bitter lasting flavor that is quite big but not undrinkable, especially for the style. I’m somewhat surprised I could handle the 101 IBUs enough to finish this. Decent, but I prefer Dogfish Head’s 90 Minute IPA, if its available.

Cloudy orange color. Bubblegum and sweet citrus flavors. Surprisingly smooth for a double IPA. Requisite bitterness with some sugary sweetness on the finish. Not an overwhelmingly sugary flavor though. Good citrus fruit flavors as well. Cornfield (5569) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - JUL 18, 2007
101 IBUs?!? Yowza! A hophead’s delight, this ale has a golden amber body with a tall head that pastes lacing to the sides of the glass. The aroma is strong with hoppy bitterness - grapefruit pulp & zest, orange blossoms, pine. Nice. It has a blistering, hot peppery mouthfeel. Nice. Some malt finally comes through in the taste, just enough to keep the lips from cracking. Nice. The finish is a prolonged bitter burning sensation. Nice. The alcohol level is hidden beneath it all. Non-hopheads may call this one dimensional. I call it very nice indeed.IPALover (63) - Carlsbad, California, USA - JUL 17, 2007

This is an outstanding San Diego Pale Ale (AKA IIPA) which features a strong but smooth hoppy mouth feel behind a pleasant (for a hophead) aroma. This beer is a staple at home on tap (since they sell 5G kegs to locals). rmussman (1701) - California, USA - JUL 15, 2007
Samplded in a 22 oz bottle. Very rich amber color and strong hops in taste for a storng strong IPA. Alcohol is smooth for a 9% beer and pour releases a very smooth fresh aroma full of hoppy goodness. bbp182 (255) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 15, 2007
Light amber/orange color. Smells of piney, citrusy, fruity hops. Wow! Very bitter. Piney, floral, great IPA! Amazing!
