COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boldly hoppy, just like the award-winning craft beers the brewery is renowned for, the seasonal offering was created when a newer team member committed a ‘folly’ by mistakenly mixing two different beer tanks, resulting in 500 barrels (or 15,500 gallons!) of the merry new brew. A taste of the resulting batch revealed it to be delicious, a hop bomb with a winter spice flavor. It’s Green Flash’s unexpected gift to IPA enthusiasts this holiday season.

Jolly Folly is dominated by resinous, spicy hops. Its piney, floral aroma yields to a full malty flavor that is nicely balanced by multiple layers of citrus and tropical hop flavors.

Strong pine, citrus fresh hops on the nose. Golden and moderately high carbonation. Tastes like light/toasty malt with a little darker roasted flavor. Tastes strongy of pine, faintly christmasy with lots of tropical and citrus and a bitter hop finish.

Bottle from Whole Foods, Folsom. Pours golden with a thick white head and a citrus aroma. There is a hearty pale malt flavor with some tropical fruit and a resinous pine finish that stays on the palate. A very nice IPA.

Lightly hazy pale orange... nice white head.. good lacing... Draft at a Bittercreek for the GF tap takeover.. Big ole SoCal Citrus hoppiness combines with some piney and floral notes that seem to jive perfectly.. Pale maltiness is there, and seems a bit heavy... For my palate, this could have finished drier.

Bottle @ Birthday Party. Clear and bright golden beer with a white head. There’s a lot of grapefruit and orange hops, but has a fairly substantial bread and caramel-ish malt character. Really nice pineapple and pine, too. Sort of perfumey, actually. The flavor is a bit on the sweet side and also has a fair amount of bitterness. Nice fruity and slightly tropical hops. Enjoyable, but a bit on the sweet side for me.

Draft. Pours gold with a white head. Citric and grassy hops, some solid malty sweetness, pine resin, and mild-moderate bitterness. Pretty good.

22oz Green Flash bomber pours with a crystal clear gold body that supports a full fairly dense head of near white colored foam. The modest aroma offers up a blend of spicy dank onion, cantaloupe, a dash of lime and then some mango. The taste delivers thick rich juicy and slightly chewy hoppy goodness. Yum. I get spicy dank onion, a citrus resiny bitterness and pine. It then gets mango and cantaloupe like here and there amid the more resiny bitter notes. Toward the finish it develops an additional hoppy earthy edge to it that only improves the experience. Wow. This is right in my wheel house.
