COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Le Freak is a modern ale created by converging two beer styles, Belgian Trippel and American Imperial IPA. The use of two yeast strains further marries the styles and American hops give the beer its modern flare.

Pours mostly clear yellow apricot with a big off white, rocky head with great retention and great lacing. The Belgian yeast is apparent on the nose with a juicy fruit flavor, as are the hops with citrus and ripe pitted fruit. Some peppery notes also. Taste is first sweet then the bitter kicks in with citrus pith and pine character which lingers. Some of the pitted fruit appears after bitterness fades a bit and has a semi spicy, peppery finish. Mouthfeel is soft but full and medium bodied with medium carbonation. Good but thought I would like this more as it is a combination of two styles I enjoy. Would rather have a great IPA or a true Belgian tripel or pale ale. ---Jeremy H

From a 22 oz bottle. Pours copper amber translucent with nice carbonation and 3/4" head. Citrus nose, sweet hoppy smell, and a tad of coriander? Claims to be a marriage of a trippel and an IPA. First taste is of white peppercorn. Complex taste with a clean finish and a tad spicy. A solid performer, but not a drink all day beer.

EBF Boston 2017. Un classique par le nombre de ratings. Une robe dore orange. Une bire avec des saveurs de fruits, de houblon, caramel lger. Une bouche agrable de IPA moderne avec des agrumes et de la rsine sur une base de levure belge avec des pices.

10oz draft. I am not normally a fan of Belgian beers, nor am I a big fan of high-alcohol IPAs, but this went down very nicely. The spice was subtle, as was the alcohol. Highly recommended.

22oz bottle bought at De Bierkoning, Amsterdam and poured into a snifter at home on 04-Mar-2017. Hazy golden amber with a small white head. Aroma of sweet malt, grain and pine. Medium body and carbonation. Taste of honey, malt, tropical fruit, orange and spices. Light bitterness with a bittersweet fruity and alcoholic finish. A pretty good Belgian style IPA.

Tight, fluffy near white head stayed well on a clear golden, still body. Tropical fruit & orange aroma. Medium body, sharp, tingly & clean on the back. Dry on the aft. Bitter citrus, pine, tropical fruits, pith, mango, orange & the Belgian yeast is definitely knocking about.

Super cloudy orange pour. Nice off white head that lasts and leaves nice nice lacing. Aroma is candied orange, citrus, caramel, a little estery peppery notes. Taste is a bit more caramel than on the nose, with the citrus, orange, peppery notes. Very good beer.

On tap at Tumans. Pours light copper. Nice balance of sweetness and breadiness with a solid amount of hops without being overbearing or astringent. I dont like APAs but I took a gamble on this one and am glad I did.
