COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Palate Wrecker was originally brewed for the Hamiltons Tavern 2nd Anniversary celebration. Its the most complicated West Coastinspired IPA we have ever brewedmashing and sparging with hopped wort, in addition to our hop layering regimen for IPA. We use almost 6 lbs/bbl of Columbus and Centennial hops to create this very bitter hop monster (tested at 149 IBU and no extracts in case you were wondering). By popular demand, it is now released for the world to enjoy (even though this beer isnt for everyone, only the real hop heads!!!). Cheers! - Chuck Silva - Brewmaster - Green Flash Brewing

12oz bottle--->tulip. Pours a clear orange/amber with very little head and light lace. Aroma is dank herb, grapefruit, and heavy pine. Tastes exactly like it smells and is pretty damn bitter (in a GREAT way). Nice crisp palate with just enough carbonation. Not exactly a "palate wrecker", but a great west coast hop bomb. Love this thing.

355 ml. bottle sampled thx. to Kraddel. Pours a hazy orange, real amber with a very thick & creamy white head. Smell is quite lovely & rather supreme above taste in my perspective, big American hops, lots of citrus here, lemon peel, fruity, creamy, USA hoppy with berries. Taste is quite bitter, USA fruity citrus hops, creamy lemon peel, berries going into a quite harsh floral-esque finish, strong grapefruit, some caramel in the start but finish is quite heavy on the previously mentioned bitter flavours, strongly hoppy stuff. Fuller, creamier body. Quite good & enjoyable but a bit hard to finish even at the end of my sample which was less than the full bottle quite nice but cannot imagine drinking a lot of this.

It poured a hazy amber color with an off-white head. The aroma was of citrus and hops. The taste was grassy, fruity, citrusy hops that were balanced well. Very tasty.

Aroma: Ooh... Alcoholic, hoppy and citrusy as hell, lots of herbs, tropical fruit and berries. Heavy malt accent underneath. Perfect. Mouthfeel: Medium body, oily texture. Taste: This beer is seriously bitter, but there is also a generous amount of malt there to make it less aggressive. Apart from that, much of the aromas carry on to the palate, with loads of grapefruit and touches of other fruit. Strangely, it didnt feel as strong as it is (9.5% ABV). Finish: Wow. Very bitter, very long aftertaste lingering at the back of my tongue and down the throat. Overall: Heavenly beer. For fanatic hopheads.

Bottled. Pours hazy amber in color with a frothy off-white head. Some citrus, earth/forrest and light spicy notes in aroma. Sweet, slightly yeasty with some bitter grapefruit in taste. Strong bitterness with some malty sweetness mixed with some spicy and earthy notes in aftertaste. Quite heavy to drink at first, but easier towards the end. Good combination of the maltyness with some bitter hops. Actually very pleasant one this brew.

Bottle 355 ml. A slightly unclear deep golden with a dense white head. Herbal hoppy aroma, notes of caramel with earthy and peachy fruity hop-accents as well. Taste is sweet malty with strong herbal hop notes and a dash of overripe fruit. Medium body and a finish that is bitter as expected, but not as bitter as expected. With a slight warming alcohol burn in the finish, but surprisingly easy to drink.

Pours slightly hazy amber with an off-white head. Hoppy and caramelly aroma with pine, fruits, citrus and malt. Quite sweet caramelly with lots of hops and a nice and bitter finish. Full body and pleasant, bitter aftertaste with pine and citrus.

12oz bottle from a four pack that cost $12. I was excited to try this and while it was a decent DIPA it just really wasnt my bag. Nice orange color, thick head, thick lacing. Smells like a bit of pine, strong hops which I like but I wasnt quite wowed. The flavor is extremely bitter but also has a strong caramel flavor from the malts. Kind of sweet too which I did not care for. Overall, above average but I wont be buying any more. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 04-29-2012 00:28:30
