Draught Dense off-white head over fully hazy yellow to orange beer. Aromatic nose, hoppy and quite a bit of ureum. W_Labs/Wyeast high temperature yeast providing aldehydes, fusels, and probably recommended at boiling temperatures. Another one. Very slick, bit fizzy carbonation. Somebody ought to tell people that the faults some Belgian brewers make, ought not to appear in the brewing books... Clearish golden coloured body with a light copper glow, a thick, four centimetre tall tan head and zillions of super small bubbles rising from the bottom and sides of the glass. Aroma of deep yeast, candy sugar, wheat, bananas, curacao and a ton of coriander seeds. Medium-bodied; Assertive belgian yeast strain shows well with some dry and herbal hops, a lot of grassy wheat and a very floral and pronounced sweetness with a dry and more dry finish. Aftertaste shows a lot of yeast, coriander seed, light spices and a tad of the sugars. Overall, a nice and dry, almost saisony like flavour with the good pinnings of hops and a barnyardie finish with some good complexity and great well-rounded character. 12 oz. bottle. Pours a thick, rapidly fading white head, with some lacing over a hazy, dark gold (SRM 6) body....nose is light fruits (pear, apple), light funk...taste is light and dry,with toffee/caramel tones, leading into barnyard, cellar, horse hide, finishing with a lingering pine and grapefruit tinged hop bitterness, ....mouth feel medium, carbonation high. The alcohol level is high for a Belgian Pale Ale. The hops are dominating the malts a bit too much, and I am unsure if Breattanomyces is really used in the classic style. All that said, this is an interesting, moderately complex, easy drinking beer for people into interesting beers. BJCP 7/3/14/4/7

Aroma: The nose is a nice combination of brett yeast, Belgian yeast, and some lemon/citrus
Appearance: It pours an unclear dark yellow color with a big, fizzy, quick dissipating white head
Flavor: The taste of this one is lightly sweet, yeasty and citrusy, with a medium bretty funkiness
Palate: The body is medium (leaning light), with a lively carbonation, and a somewhat dry finish
I thought this was a pretty solid offering. It drinks decently well, it has a good enough look to it, and it has some very nice components to it as well. Very solid stuff here.
UPDATED: MAY 17, 2013 Bottle erupted when I opened it. Poured a hazy, copper with a huge three-finger head. Smell is floral, herbal, medicinal, spicy, huge tropical fruits - pineapple, mango, papaya - bretty, band-aid, and citrus. There is a ton going on in the aroma of this beer, bright Orval characteristics. Taste is herbal and floral, hints of citrus, medicinal, band-aid, yet hoppy, sweet tarts, grassy, lemongrass, yeast, and spice with a medium bitter finish. The bitterness seems to linger but it is enjoyable. Mouthfeel is lively with fizzy carbonation. Very well-balanced beer and highly complex; really enjoyable and rivals Orval very closely. The look: Cloudy golden-amber body topped by medium off-white head with medium retention
In long: Nose is superbly wild/bretty, very bright, plenty of flowery funk. Wow that’s brett used right. Taste has a solid semi-toasted cookies like malt backbone over which lots of brett flourishes, bitter grapefruits, flower petals, farmhouse. The beer seems to be generously hopped and with aromatic hops mixed with the floral funk, the beer becomes a big semi-bitter flowers bouquet. A bit reminiscent of Canada’s Driftwood Spring Rite, those American brewers always copying Canadian brewers…:) A great cheap beer sold in 4-packs. Excellent beer, underrated, people who gave this beer a bad rating are just plain dumb… but before you get all upset about my comments please know that most of the time I’m just joking around, I’m only occasionally condescending… and you probably need me to explain the difference to you.
Bottle. It pours a cloudy, golden copper color with a huge, billowing white head. Very nice lacing along the glass. The aroma is heavy on the spice and yeast notes with a bit of funkiness in the background for good measure. Very carbonated, pours with 3 to four finger head,. Appearance is golden leaning more towards amber. Aroma consists of mostly malts but hints of floral hops. Taste is more balanced than aroma....got more hop profile in the beginning and nice bitterness bite. Medium mouthfeel which is good for a 7%ABV. Overall very nice, drinkable Belgian Pale Ale with a west coast twist.
