On tap at Hay Merchant. Pours a clear yellow gold with a small off white head. The aroma is honey and floral hop. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet honey hop and bitter finish. A decent American pale ale from Green Flash. Drake (14078) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 8, 2012
Served on draft at Beer Run. I’m not sure what makes this retro, or a different beer from the Extra Pale at all, so I fully expect this rating to be merged at some point. Pours a clear golden color with a medium sized head. Poor head retention. Aroma of herbal, peppery and earthy malts. The taste is sweet malts, earth, peppery and herbal hops. Medium bodied with a lingering bitterness. Nice. bu11zeye (13239) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JUL 31, 2012

Retro XPA...this was sooo boring next to the 30th Street Pale! Like a lightweight version of english pale. Get rid of this and make more 30th!! I digress...not horrid...just seems that way in comparison. :)" jcwattsrugger (12549) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - NOV 28, 2012

Draught at PP Carlsbad. Nose of cinnamon, malt, light caramel, earthy hops. Light amber malt flavor, caramel, earthy hops. Decent, light, swillable.
Pint on tap at Neon’s Unplugged. On the chalkboard it was labeled simply "Green Flash Pale Ale", but a Green Flash rep in the bar was referring to it as "Retro". Clear amber color, nice thin white head, leaving good lace. Very nice grapefruit, pine, dry hop aromas. Enough hops for an IPA, but without the bitter or heaviness. Very nice crisp carbonation, excellent dry texture with a good dry hop aftertaste. Lighter bitter taste - the hop overpowers it. Very nice pale ale, one to rival Stone’s, I think. Shared some with Hota: she said it was smooth and light, soft palate, but a brassy aftertaste. SudsMcDuff (8523) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - JUN 5, 2013
