Bomber purchased at Holiday Wine Cellar ($8.99). Pours quite dark for an IPA with a brown-red hue and three fingers of fluffy tan head with good retention and nice lacing. AROMA of caramel malts, spicy rye bread, citrus, pine, tea and resinous hops. FLAVOR of big spicy rye, tart grapefruit, smooth caramel-y malts, pine, honey-sweetened iced (black) tea, and hints of tropical fruit. Quite malty overall, but does finish with some lingering hop bitterness. High ABV quite well hidden here. Fairly well balanced with the rye coming in big (which I always appreciate in a RyePA). I don’t think this is super fresh, but it still comes across as a great (though malty) rye DIPA. Would like to see this one return as a year-round or regular seasonal release. Smells great but very malty. Almost candi sugar like smell, hints of alcohol and tropical/citrus notes. Dark burgundy color, quikcly fading white head. Quite delicious flavor, upfront sweet and spicy malt notes, finishes with pine, tropical fruit and a hint of alcohol. Not overly complex but quite well balanced. Medium bodied and average carbonation. Defreni (3286) - Husum, DENMARK - NOV 15, 2014
The Gavmeister (28) - , SCOTLAND - NOV 14, 2014

Pours murky dark red with a large foamy off white head. Aromas of citrus, pine, kiwi, apricot, grapefruit and some resinous notes. Taste is peach, apricot, pine, citrus, kiwi and grapefruit. Mouthfeel is quite full-bodied with medium carbonation. milewide (2304) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - NOV 13, 2014
ABV at 9% is too high for my regular rotation...but this is an excellent, full bodied, brew. Reddish Amber color with full aroma and taste! hotstuff (5233) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - NOV 12, 2014
Rated on 10-12-2014 (Bottle) The appearance is a small beige mostly diminishing head, transparent amber body, fast rising carbonation, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is citrus hops, spicy and caramel malt. The flavor is moderate bitterness, citrus hops, spicy, and caramel malt. The mouthfeel is lively carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. This is a sipping IPA at 9%ABV. It has a soft bitter aftertaste and is a beer worth trying.
