a very session-able brew that pours a thin red with white head. Low IBU crisp dry and refreshing. Fairly priced widely available. Acetobacter (815) - Pennsylvania, USA - APR 26, 2009
Enjoyed via 12 oz bottle. Pours a nice deep red color. Initially, I thought it might be similar to Hop Head Red or another one of their hop-forward examples. However, I was surprised to get heavy notes of malt in both the aroma, as well as on the palate. Definitely a "Dusseldorf" Alt, the drinker gets notes of Munich malt flavors, balanced to a pretty fair extent by the use of what I sensed to be German noble hops. It is a shame that this one is retired (I must have just lucked out and got an old bottle), as it was quite enjoyable. SuperDave (2555) - Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA - FEB 3, 2008
Pours a slightly cloudy deep amber. Foamy tan head with some lasting power. Aromas of hops and caramel. Good flavors of caramel and malt, with a hint of citrus on the finish. Bought this because of the display at Sun Devil Liquors, but was nicely surprised. kp (10880) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - SEP 1, 2007

clear dark red, big beige head, bits of lace, sweet bready biscuit malt aroma, good blend of malt flavors, a touch of chocolate, nice nuttyness, good dry carmel, bready biscuit, a bit oxidized, a touch of hop flavor and bitterness to keep it all in balance,
Aroma: 6/10; Appearance: 7/10; Flavor: 6/10; Palate: 5/10; Overall: 11/20
Roasted malt and dried fruit aroma. Amber color with a tan bubbly head. Flavor is sweet initially, with malt, rasin, and some caramel flavors. Slightly dry finish with a light bitter duration. Palate is full bodied. Flavor is nice and rich but not too heavy. Good.

Red in color with creamy head. Aroma was malts, roasted grains and hops. Flavor was rich in malts, caramel, dough, and a hop bitterness to the finish. Medium bodied and very satisfying. Good alt. mlist55 (210) - media, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 23, 2007
Pours a translucent ruby amber with an average off with creamy head that left some lacing. Aroma of sweet caramel malts, citrus hops, vanilla, lots of sweet malts! Flavor of sweet malts, slightly fruity an d little hoppy. Lingering hop bitterness.

Deep red color with nice head and lace. Tastes malty with an after taste of hops. IMO it’s a good blend of the two. acearl (510) - The Ham, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 2, 2007
Rust hue with lasting creamy tan head, good lacing, oily, medium body, roasted grain malt a little doughy, light carbonation, light to medium hop, brown sugar or carmel hint of nutmeg or cinnamon and a little peachy smel maybe cobblerl, average duration. Decent average for Green Flash from what I have sampled. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAR 30, 2007
Bottle: Reddish caramel, or "Ruby Red", moderate sand colored head, foamy, decent lacing.   Grain oriented nose, some meat and potatoes as well.   Reminds me of a nice meal!   Rich malty start, hop bitterness is lower than expected, still coming across as a meal, meat, potatoes, and vegetables all mixed together.   Decent body, moderate mouthfeel.   Meaty beer, just not overly interesting or filled with hoppy goodness that I thought this Red might be.   Still decent, probably great with dinner.   Hearty malty brew.
